Wexford Motor Club Press Launch - New Sponsor

Wexford Motor Club recently had the official press launch for the new sponsor in the now branded

Wexford Volkswagen Wexford Stages Rally.

Wexford Motor Club Chairman Graham Scallan said he was delighted that Volkswagen Wexford had

agreed to team-up with the event to showcase the Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally.

'This is one of the most significant financial developments ever announced for Wexford Motor Club, and

the achievement of our first major milestone in our development programme,' he said.

With a clear vision to strengthen and promote safe motoring and motorsport in Wexford, and Ireland as a

whole, Wexford Volkswagen in partnership with Wexford Motorclub, Wexford County Council and other

stakeholders aim to build an annual family friendly event/festival in the town with the Rally as its

centrepiece from 2017 forward.

Graham commented that he believed it's both a partnership and a sponsorship deal as we both have a

vision to develop the Wexford VW Stages Rally further in the years to come.

Volkswagen have committed to working hard with us to develop this and for us it was an obvious choice

to venture into the partnership with them.

Wexford VW Stages Rally is worth €750 thousand to the local Wexford economy.

Wexford Youth’s Academy

Well done to the 2 finalist who will race this weekend the CRG team.

Jack Byrne (Junior) Jack was chosen as the Junior winner. He will be competing in the Mini Max class in the C Plate race on Saturday, July 9th, and the Motorsport Ireland Round 6 racing on Sunday, July 10th. Jack’s driving style, was excellent, pushing the kart to its fullest potential. His overall ability impressed us greatly and CRG

are looking forward to working with Jack this weekend. Best of luck Jack.

Joshua Power (Cadet) Joshua was chosen as the cadet winner. He will compete with CRG for the C Plate race meeting on

Saturday, July 9th, in the competitive Novice Cadet class among a grid of about 15 drivers. Joshua done a brilliant interview and he definitely had an edge in the kart. He worked well with his

coach and followed instructions really well. Best of luck in to Joshua in the Motorsport Ireland C Plate

race!
