Wetherill Park and Development OverviewStockland Wetherill Park has been part of the Fairfield community for more than 30 years. Since opening in 1983, the centre continues to expand and accommodate the growing community of Fairfield.

The centre progressively expanded to include Hoyts Cinemas, professional and medical suites as well as free-standing fast food outlets.

The centre underwent another redevelopment with the addition of Target, 30 new specialty stores (including a fresh food precinct) and a 400-seat food court.

The centre opened Stage 1 of the $222 million redevelopment, which included Kinchin Lane Restaurant precinct, JB Hi-Fi, Amart Sports, Kathmandu, Fit n Fast Gym, 55 specialty stores and 850 car parking spaces.

This week we are proud to open the final stage of the $222 million dollar redevelopment, which includes a brand-new Coles supermarket, a new alfresco food court, children’s play space, 30 additional specialty stores, and an additional 900 car parking spaces.

FOODIES DELIGHTThe Grove Food Court is a fresh and exciting food precinct that doesn’t feel like a food court at all. That’s because part of the 850 seats are

alfresco, making the most of the sunshine on fine weather days. The rest of the seating is under cover, but surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows to allow natural light to flow in. The area is well-ventilated, with a children’s play space close by. Diners can soak up the sunshine as they enjoy a bite to eat from one of the 14 new food retailers, where a wide variety of styles and cuisines are on offer. These include top-quality takeaway sushi from Mashita, noodles from Hokka Hokka, Brazilian-influenced dishes from Fogo Brazilia and healthy salads from Soul Origin,

as well as food court favourites like Boost Juice, Subway, KFC, and McDonald’s, to name a few. Shoppers can power up at the mobile phone charging stations before heading back into the busy centre.

MASHITA SUSHIOnce you find a sushi restaurant that serves up top-quality Japanese food, you keep going back. And back, and back. That’s what customers find at Mashita, where the chefs are highly-qualified and take the utmost pride in their product. Service is second-to-none and staff greet everyone with a smile. It’s quick and easy, with a focus on taste.

SOUL ORIGINThe team at Soul Origin aim to inspire their customers to eat mindfully. They do this by serving up fresh wraps, sandwiches, salads, coffees and sweet treats with a focus on healthy produce. It is guilt-free fast food. The highly-trained baristas know their way around the espresso machine, and all the delectable desserts are homemade.

CURRY DELIGHTSometimes all you need is something with a bit of spice. When that craving hits, it’s time to stop by and visit the team at Curry Delight. Fine flavours of traditional Indian and Pakistani cuisine are on offer, including all your favourite dishes and some new tastes as well. It’s an inexpensive and authentic experience that’s sure to have you coming back for more.

ATAMAN KEBABDonor kebabs from Ataman Kebab are as authentic as they come. Using soft flatbread wraps and salads, friendly staff create tasty meals that can be eaten on the go. The marinated meats and falafels are packed full of flavour, and the tabouli is always freshly-made. This Turkish street food-style fare is a nutrition powerhouse.

LEWRAPGourmet wraps, plates and salads are created before your eyes by the fun-loving team at LeWrap. Customers can create their own flavour combinations, choosing from the range of crisp ingredients in front of them, including fresh chicken and beef, and salads prepared daily. The expertly-trained staff prepare food with flair. Some menu favourites include the Mexican beef wrap and the chicken salad.


New Commonwealth Bank Branch in Stockland Wetherill ParkCommonwealth Bank has recently relocated its branch in Stockland Wetherill Park which allowscustomers to access a range ofservices during the Centre openinghours seven days a week, whichhas been welcomed by both ourbusiness and personal customers.

The Wetherill Park branch features a moreopen and welcoming environment wherecustomers are greeted by friendly staffwho are able to assist them with theirimmediate needs, appointments andspecialist requirements.

The branch also introduces the verylatest banking technology including iPadNet Bank Kiosks and free Wi-Fi, InstantCash and Cheque Deposit ATMs, coincounting and dispensing machines, aBusiness Change Station and videoconferencing options for personaland business banking and financialadvice, meaning customers can accessspecialists such as mortgage lenders andasset finance specialists from the branch.

HERO SUSHI At Hero Sushi the Japanese chefs take pride in the quality of the meals they provide. Fresh sushi, sashimi and hot dishes are available at the sushi rail restaurant.

THE GOZLEME CO. Gözleme is a traditional Turkish flatbread dish, and although it’s typically street food, at Gozleme Co. it is instead served in a gourmet environment. There are breakfast, vegetarian, beef, and dessert variations on the menu, and all are served with the freshest ingredients.

RASHAY’S PIZZA PASTA GRILLThe dining at Rashay’s may be casual, but it’s far from fast food. SATISFY YOUR SWEET TOOTHThe Christmas meal is usually eaten around midday or in the early afternoon in England. Middle Eastern ChristmasA DELICIOUS AND DAZZLING AFFAIR

SOWING NEW LIFEIn many Middle Eastern cultures, families often build their own manger scene called the nativity crib, or crèche. 14 days before Christmas, many people sprout beans and seeds (such as chickpeas and lentils) on damp cotton wool. By Christmas Day these sprouts have grown and are used to decorate the crib, symbolising the birth of Jesus. Big W has a range of seeds as part of its garden range, so you could try this unique custom at home.

FEASTING AFTER A FASTIn many middle eastern cultures, Christmas Day is celebrated on January 7. For 43 days beforehand, many Christians have a special fast where they eat basically a vegan diet. The Christmas meal is then full of food that contains meat, eggs and butter – all the yummy things they didn’t have during the Advent fast. Stock up for a similar feast at the new Coles.

TINY TOWN DRAWS A BIG CROWDDuring the Christmas season, thousands of people flock to Bethlehem, the Palestinian town renowned as the birthplace of Jesus Christ. The Church of the Nativity is in the city’s Manger Square, and a huge tree is erected in front with 40,000 lights and more than 6000 baubles. It is certainly a sight to behold.

INGREDIENTS:

1 whole turkey

1 cup olive oil

2 tbsp plain flour

5 cloves fresh garlic, crushed

Fresh rosemary

Fresh basil

Salt and pepper

TRADITIONAL ROAST TURKEY

METHOD:

Preheat the oven to 180C. Combine olive oil, garlic, rosemary, basil, salt and pepper in a small bowl.

Wash the turkey inside and out and pat dry. Remove any excess fat. Using your hands, spread the herb mixture under the skin and over the turkey.

Place turkey in a roasting pan. Add water to just cover the bottom of the pan. Roast according to weight.
