Home Reading Program

This year we have introduced a ‘Home Reader Program’ to families who wished to take part. Staff are overwhelmed by the efforts of students and their families. We encourage all students to show their families how their reading has improved by reading to someone at home for 10 minutes each day. Maybe students could read to themselves, their pet, a teddy or doll? Reading aloud will improve their skills. Practise makes Perfect!

WEEK 5 & WEEK 10 REWARD:

All students who return and re-borrow their home readers each week of Term 3 will receive a PBL

Award for Responsibility and a water ice-block. The first round of awards will be distributed in Week 5 and again in Week 10. Get reading !!!

If your child is new to our school and you would like for them to be involved in this program, please sign and return the slip below. Warm Regards

I wish for my child: ___________________ of class: _________________ to participate in

the Home-Reading program this year. I understand that my child will read to an adult for 10 minutes

each night. Home-reading packets will be returned every Friday for the teacher to check and for the readers to be changed. Signed: ____________________________________ Date: _________________________
