CLA design began in 1997 with one goal — merge

creativity and integrity in order to create opportunities

and quality designs. We strive to meet this goal with

every project. We are small, but not too small. We solve

problems and we tell stories. We love color and we

breathe fonts. We listen, we collaborate, we dream, we

are committed, and we succeed. And we really like plaid.

The following portfolio will give you a sampling of what

we have to offer... print design, web design, photo

logo design

A logo is a graphic element that is used to create a distinct and durable perception in the minds of consumers. A logo is a persistent, unique business identity intertwined with associations of personality, quality, origin, liking and more. A logo is a valuable part of brand identity and a tactically important part of the branding program. Logos must be single, simple visual images so that customers can relate it with your company. And if it’s super cool? That’s a bonus.

west hartford yoga

In 2002, West Hartford Yoga (WHY) opened the largest yoga studio in Connecticut. To promote themselves, they wanted a refreshing new identitythat would stand out from others in their arena while also reflecting the simplicity and spirituality inherent in the practice. Their marketing adopts the warm, welcoming colors of the studio while keeping the large array of information both organized and visually appealing. You should be feeling a sudden urge to move into a downward dog... right about now!

concerned citizens for humanity

Concerned Citizens for Humanity (ccfh) was founded in 1990 by a group of artists who wanted to “use their creative skills to give something back to their communities”. We work with ccfh creating powerful awareness posters and other materials to help educate communities on many of today’s health and social issues such as HIV/AIDS, Addiction, Homelessness, Violence, Animal Abuse, and Teen Pregnancy. In order to convey proper understanding of these issues, we listen to people—our target population—so we can truly understand what they need.

a call for re-engagement

The AIDS CHAIR was designed to stand as a steadfast symbol of the urgent need to re-engage and re-energize the AIDS movement. It’s emergence comes at a time when the domestic agenda has shifted its focus away from the AIDS crisis, even while the destruction of human lives and communities continues unabated.

The Red Ribbon shape pays homage to the iconic symbol of solidarity, commitment, struggle, pain, and a shared sense of urgency which typified the early years of the AIDS movement, and is intended as a visual reminder of the critical social dialogue and hard work still needing to be done to end the crisis. imaging center of west hartfordImaging Center of West Hartford (ICWH) is a radiology center in Blue Back Square. The center specializes in services such as x-rays, ultrasound and MRI. It also offers additional medical imaging services. Over the years, we have designed and produced promotional ads, print brochures, and flyers promoting ICWH services, especially for women. Their latest promotion—a mammogram party—helped to draw women into their facility to get their yearly mammograms in a relaxed atmosphere. Taking something scary and making it accessible... just another facet of our artistry.

ICWH Brochures, Ad, Palm Card

What is a Mammogram Party? A Mammogram Party at the Imaging Center of West Hartford is a women-only event that offers a relaxing way to get an annual (and potentially life-saving) screening. Just think, you can get together with family, friends or co-workers in a relaxed atmosphere while doing something good for your health.

How can I host a Mammogram Party? It’s simple! Talk with the women in your life and select a date and time that is best for everyone to have their mammograms. Then call (860) 236-6517 to reserve that date and time. Private Mammogram Parties require a minimum of 6 participants who will be screening mammograms and/or bone densitometry. But, don’t worry if you have a smaller group. We can schedule your group with another small group.

The Imaging Center of West Hartford will coordinate a party to your specifications. You and your guests will feel extra comfy in luxurious robes and enjoy party amenities at no extra charge. We will try our best to accommodate special requests. Mammography Services and other Radiology Services will be billed to each participant’s insurance. What a great way to meet and network with other women while being pampered and celebrating good health!

A Mammography Party ... fun and good for your health!

A classical guitarist with a flair ....Daniel Salazar needed a CD and website design that would encompass the grace and beauty of his music. The subtle mystery of the artwork has attracted attention from other national artists while still keeping a cool, desirable look that allows the listener a glimpse into Daniel’s masterful accomplishments before his music is even heard. We also created a brand for Daniel’s yearly event—Guitar Under the Stars—along with the 20th Anniversary performance.

end cat & dog overpopulation... with h.o.p.e.The H.O.P.E. Spay/Neuter Clinic is Connecticut’s only nonprofit, high volume, high quality, reduced cost, spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs. Our mission is simple – humanely end the tragedy of cat and dog overpopulation, homelessness, and euthanasia in Connecticut by providing high quality spay/neuter services for strays, ferals, and unaltered pets whose owners do not have access to veterinary care.

did you know? Pet overpopulation is at crisis levels in Connecticut. Each year, thousands of dogs and cats end up on the streets, neglected and abused, or in shelters in search of new homes. The capture, impoundment and eventual destruction of unwanted animals costs taxpayers ?? of dollars each year. Fixing your pet reduces health risks and improves behavior in cats and dogs.
