Attention Owners/Exhibitors of Foreign Registered Dogs If you are the owner/exhibitor of a dog registered with a foreign registry (not yet dual registered with AKC) please review the eligibility requirements in The Rules Applying to Dog Shows, chapter 11, section 1. The dog show rules are posted on the AKC web site at http://images.akc.org/pdf/rulebooks/RREGS3.pdf. Most important to note are the following: 1. Dogs must be individually registered with the American Kennel Club by the day of the event

to be eligible for exhibit in the Bred by Exhibitor Class. 2. Dogs are eligible to compete in AKC events using the foreign registration for a period for 30

days. That 30-day period begins with the date of first exhibit, regardless of whether the dog earned any points or awards. To continue to compete in AKC events beyond the initial 30-day period the dog must be either individually AKC registered or by the date of the event have been granted an extension to exhibit using the foreign registration. The owner or agent can request an extension using the form found on the AKC Web site at http:// images.akc.org/pdf/extenap.pdf.

3. If you have question or need assistance with registration or obtaining an extension, please contact the AKC Special Services Department at: [email protected] or (919) 233-9767 (followed by selecting option 4)

Trick Dog, CGC, & CGCA Tests Each Afternoon

The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizens Program is a two part program that is designed to (1) teach responsible dog ownership to owners and (2) certify dogs that have the training & demeanor to be reliable, well-behaved members of their families and communities. The purpose of the Canine Good Citizen Program is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act mannerly in the home, in public places and in the presence of other dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Test of your dog’s manners and training is not a competition and does not require the owner/handlers and dog to perform with precision. Handlers may talk to their dogs throughout the test but cannot offer food or a toy. The Canine Good Citizen Test is open to purebred dogs – both registered and unregistered that are 6 months old or older. At check-in, the owner or handler must present a current rabies certificate. A rabies tag is not sufficient proof of rabies vaccination. All tests must be performed on-leash. Dogs should wear well-fitted buckle or slip collars made of either leather, fabric or chain. Special training collars or devices (e.g. pinch collars or “head halters”) are not permitted. The leash should be made of leather or fabric. Dogs must be healthy, in good condition and clean to pass the test. A dog whose appearance has been noticeably affected by a medical condition may pass the test, provided at check-in, the owner presents a letter of explanation and release from the dog’s veterinarian.

The dog must pass each of the following 10 test categories: 1. Accepting a friendly stranger 6. Sit and down on command, and stay in place 2. Sitting politely for petting 7. Come when called 3. Appearance and grooming 8. Reaction to another dog 4. Walking on loose leash 9. Reactions to visual and auditory distractions 5. Walking through a crowd 10. Supervised separation =========================================================================

COVID-19RELEASE/WAIVER (Must be completed, signed, and returned with your entry)

I attest that to the best of my knowledge, I do not have the Coronavirus (COVID-

19) at the time of attending this event (the Doberman Pinscher Club of America

Working Aptitude Evaluation) sponsored by the Associated Doberman Pinscher

Clubs of Ohio in Lima, Ohio on 3 July 2021.

I understand the risks of unknowing exposure to this and other illnesses by or to

myself, my family, other participants, and third parties. I have not been tested and

found positive, I am not waiting for test results, and I do not currently have symp-

toms or have had symptoms during the past 14 days. I have not been in contact

with or exposed to any known carrier of COVID-19 within the past 14 days. If I

have previously tested positive for COVID-19, I certify that I have been released

by government officials and/or health care providers to resume normal activity

without limit.

I agree that I will not knowingly expose others to any illness I may have or be at

risk to have. I will follow all Association rules and requirements to help reduce

exposure and possibility of contracting or spreading the virus. I will also fully com-

ply with and follow any and all City, County, State, Local, and host organization

guidelines that have jurisdiction in the location of the Working Aptitude Evaluation

event. If any of the above should change prior to my arrival at the Working Apti-

tude Evaluation site, or during my visit to the site that is the subject of this con-

sent, I will inform an Association volunteer and proceed accordingly.

I agree that I am attending this event entirely at my own risk and assume all risk

and full responsibility for my own health, well-being, and safety during this event. I

understand that the circumstances regarding COVID-19 are changing from day- to

-day and that, accordingly, guidelines are regularly modified and updated. I accept
