GREEN TEAM MOVIE: GIRAFFES-
AFRICA’S GENTLE GIANTS
Despite being gentle, giraffes’ 2-ton weight and might make
them dangerous to be near. Perhaps that’s why they’ve been
studied far less than other large mammals. Recently that’s
changed, thanks to an Australian biologist whose life’s work,
dedicated to understanding giraffes, shows they are in serious
decline. He and his family join a Ugandan wildlife team for a
dangerous, urgent mission to catch and move 20 giraffes across
the Nile to safety. Join the Green Team for this thrilling, heartwarming documentary. Wednesday, June 7,

COMMUNITY CORNER
On October 26, 1987 when Goodwin House West opened, (after gathering all of
its residents from various hotels in the area due to contractors late fulfillment of
opening date) it’s history began. A history which includes the installment of a
frozen yogurt machine. Its purpose was to provide pleasure and promote
camaraderie. In the beginning, its offerings were very basic i.e. vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
A small beginning for what has become one of the most popular, well-known and sought-after
offerings of the now noteworthy, residence known as Goodwin House Baileys Crossroads since
2004.
If you don’t like the flavor today, be sure and check it out tomorrow. Coming here to visit one’s
grandparents brings a smile to any child’s face. We can replace dining venues, Bistro floors and
TV companies, but never the frozen yogurt machine!
