West Sacramento Historical Society

The West Sacramento Historical Society wasestablished in 1993 to preserve the history of West Sacramento and to provide an opportunity forindividuals and groups to learn about and experience the rich culture of our past. The WS HistoricalSociety established the Museum and Visitor Center, the first museum in West Sacramento, onFebruary 20, 2005.

In addition to exhibits, we provide special screenings and book signings for projects relating to WestSacramento history. Our staff are also available for speaking engagements.

WSHS is supported by memberships and donations, and receives some funding from the City of WestSacramento.

The West Sacramento Community Center opened in 2011 with a History Gallery dedicated to WestSacramento history. The "Our Journey" exhibit series features the contributions of various culturesto the rich history of West Sacramento.
