Competition is not a means to an end and is not to be stressed to the exclusion of the Festival spirit.

It is a means of “pacing one another on the road of excellence” and is to rise above rivalry.

The Festival spirit may be defined as the joy of participating with others in seeking the highest levels in the art of music.

The adjudication system of the Prince Edward Island Kiwanis Music Festival Association is designed to recognize each participant for his or her own individual performance. Whether the classes are competitive or non-competitive, each performance is adjudicated according to its own merit and not in comparison with others. Each participant will receive positive instruction and encouragement. A gold, silver or bronze seal will be added to the adjudication sheet reflecting the standard achieved for that particular performance. This standard is pre-determined by the adjudicator. The marks represented by the seals are as follows: Gold 88 and above; Silver 84-87; Bronze 80-83. The mark itself will not be made public and is used solely in deciding final awards.

Final Concert and Presentation of Awards

Saturday, May 14th, 2016 7:00 PM

O’Leary Church of the Nazarene, O’Leary, P.E.I.

Thank you to our music teachers, participants, accompanists and volunteers.

Without them, we would not have a festival!

In order to help defray costs, a freewill offering will be gratefully accepted at

each session of the Festival.

Your generous support is greatly appreciated
