    Till LC is received from all sources every line or equipmentshall be treated as live Relay coordination should be ensured with OPTCL & other

    CPPs for clearance of faulty feeder at shortest possible time All consumers irrespective of category should be instructed

    not to connect Generators, Inverters etc. without any expresspermission from the utility company Hang danger board at all strategic places to ensure safety at

    work spot Enforcing safety rules and procedures

    No compromise / second thought on using safety appliances

    State own authorities like PWD, NH, roads and buildings andother agencies should take approprite approval beforeexecuting their projects

    Safety rules and procedures should be displayed atconspicious places, print and electronic media for awarenessof the consumer and general public

    Barbed/ wall fencing should be mandatory for theexisting sub-stations and new sub-stations includinggrid sub-stations

    Anti climbing fencing is to be mandatory in allsupports carring live as well as dead HV & LV lines

    Constuction of building beneath / close to thevicinity of HV and LV lines is to prohibited Pamphlets / Guide book should be distributed

    among employees as a ready reckoner.

    Workmen shall be properly trained Proper dress for workmen Solitary execution of works by workmen should not

    be encouraged.

    For new lines and substations proper clearance anddistance should be maintained

    For temporary earthing should be enhforced before

    SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PROTECTIONAGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK

    Unauthorised persons shall not attempt replacementof transformer fuses

    Other than utility employees shall not try to replace

    street lights or set right service wires Inform nearest utility office if loose or hanging wiresare noticed

    While drilling bore wells ensure that the casing pipes

    do not touch live wires while they are being lifted up Do not touch low lying or snapped conductor Do not lean against electric poles Do not stand beneath overhead lines while heavy

    winds are blowing

    MAINTENANCE OF DISTRIBUTIONSYSTEM AND REDUCTION OF

    Inspection of HT/LT lines, cutting of tree

    branches touching the lines

    This is a continuous process. Prunning of tree

    braches are taken up in a planned way toensure minimum load shedding.

    Replacement of damaged stays Whenever such cases are noticed, it is being

    replaced.

    Repairing of tilted poles if any On priority it is being done.

    Restringing of conductors where there

    is inadequate clearance as per I.E. rules

    Restringing of conductors are being taken up

    to increase the clearance. There are also very

    old lines with long span and due sagging the

    clearance becomes inadequate. In order to

    avoid this we are in process to replace such

    conductors with new conductors and to set

    clearance we are putting intermitant poles.

    It is being done. However to maitain

    uniformity common formats are prepared

    and will be supplied as registers to all s/s byend of May-2009

    inspection of distribution lines and S/S

    Every year the JE & SDO make their shedule

    for checking lines & s/s synchrinising with

    the shut down taken by Gridco/OPTCL as well

    as DISCOM, so that there will not be any

    additional shutdowns.
