WePAC Names Heather Farber Interim Executive Director

PHILADELPHIA, March 2, 2016 – The West Philadelphia Alliance for Children ispleased to announce the appointment of Heather Farber as Interim ExecutiveDirector of WePAC.

An experienced General Manager and Marketing executive, she has heldleadership positions at NRG Energy, Barclays, and MBNA America and hasworked in West Philadelphia since 2010. Prior to this appointment Farber servedon WePAC’s Board of Directors, including two terms as Treasurer.

“I feel honored to have been asked to lead WePAC at this critical time.” Farbersaid. “Literacy is not a luxury. The children of Philadelphia’s public schoolsdeserve a place to explore, take books home, and make literacy skills a part ofeveryday life.” Since 2009, WePAC has committed roughly 10,000 hours per yearto reopening, staffing and operating volunteer-run libraries in schools in West andSouthwest Philadelphia and the East Falls/Roxborough area.

A passionate advocate of opportunities for children, Farber has been a readingmentor in Philadelphia and Wilmington public schools, and serves on theExecutive Committee and chairs Board Development for College Settlement inHorsham.

Farber resides in West Chester with her husband of twenty years and twelve yearold daughter. She is a proud graduate of Penn State’s University ScholarsProgram and holds a BA in Advertising and MBA in Management.
