Dean & Anita were first to arrive Tuesday then 7

more vans in on Wednesday, followed by the

other members Friday to Saturday. I would like

to welcome our new members Jan & Berit

Svensson & Peter & Wynette Lowe who joined

us for their first rally.

A bird’s eye view on Tuesday

Wednesday was a day of just sitting around and

catching up with everyone that we have not seen

since our Christmas Party November 2016, a few

plans were made for places to visit and of course

where to eat.

The usual morning and afternoon teas, and of

course happy hour took place daily but as there

is not a lot of shade at this park and with the heat

every day we looked like gypsies moving from

tree to tree trying to get a little protection from

the sun. Thursday some took the opportunity to

drive to Shellharbour and Kiama and the local

areas, some headed for the local club and the air

conditioning.

Anita made a booking for us for Saturday night

dinner at Bulli Woonona RSL which was

enjoyed by all. Some members drove and others

made use of the courtesy bus, which I believe on

their return trip home were entertained by the

funny verbal exchange by John Spencer and the

lady who sat beside him on the bus, if you want

more details you will have to ask “John”.

Corrimal RSL enjoying the air conditioning

Sunday unfortunately some members had to

head home, everyone else made their way for

Sunday lunch at the Corrimal RSL, again to

dodge some of the head. Monday a drive to the

Seacliff Bridge and Stawell Tops, followed by

lunch at the Towradgi Bowling Club.

View from the Seacliff Bridge

We welcomed rain on Tuesday bringing the

temperature down which we all enjoyed.

Wednesday all members except Peter and

Wynette packed up and made their way home,

all of us looking forward to the next rally at

Budgewoi.

Thank you to everyone who attended, a great

rally with great people and lots of laughs.

Safe travels, enjoy your caravan and I hope to see you at one of our rallies.

Trundle – ABBA Festival 3rd – 10th May. We have 10 vans who have expressed their interest in attending this rally, Just to recap: 1. We will be staying at the Tullamore Showground which is approximately 36kms away from Trundle. There will be a shuttle bus available to us on the Saturday of the festival. If you so wish to use it there is a minimal charge to be paid to the driver. 2. Powered sites are $20 per night. Powered sites have been booked. 3. Even though the festival runs from the 2nd May – 8th May, we’ve had a rethink of our stay at the showground. The suggestion we are proposing is as follows:

• 3rd May – meet at Macquarie Woods Camp Out for one night – or you can go directly to Tullamore. • 4th May – we head into Tullamore Showground • 4th, 5th & 6th May we stay put at the Showground and enjoy Tullamore, Trundle and surrounding

area • 7th May – head to the ACE Caravan Park at West Wyalong for a couple of nights • 9th May – head to Cowra Van Park for two nights • 11th May – make your way home or continue your journey to other destinations.

4. You will need to purchase your ABBA tickets on line. Web site to do this https://www.123tix.com.au/events/300/trundle-abba-festival. Last time we purchased our tickets in town, but this event is getting more popular therefore it may be better to purchase them on line. 5. Payment for your sites is required by 3rd April and is required to be a bank transfer. I will email you personally the details of the bank account and your site number as this is required to be placed on the deposit slip. 6. If you are interested in the little tag-a-long, please let me know, so that I can book the two caravan parks for interested parties. If you want to stay longer in Tullamore and do not wish to join the tag, also please also let me know, so that I can email the co-ordinator to let her know of changes. Please let me know of your plans by 28th February. If I have confused you in any way, please email me with your questions. Maria & Tony Battaglia
