Health is one of the important aspects of quality of life. Life expectancy is

increasing due to good healthcare and advances in medical sciences. As a result the world population Malaysia included is aging and it is important that we stress healthy living. Thus it is appropriate that we gather together the expertise of resource personalities in Malaysia to share with us their views and knowledge in this area so that we can look at health from a holistic view encompassing environment, mind, body and soul. The programme is envisaged to cover the subject via 5 modules namely:

Module 1: Nutrition & Health

Module 2: Clean Air

Module 3: Clean Drinking Water

Module 4: Healthy/Safe Vegetables & Fruits

Module 5 : Safe Quality Meat

The materials covered will enlighten us on mental health and pertinent advances related to sustaining a healthy body. Not withstanding all these advances and knowledge we should also take note of the importance of community life as elaborated in the Roseto mystery as written in the recent book entitled “Outliers”. We hope all members of society will take advantage of the two-day conference which will be held on 24 and 25 June 2009 at Pusat Sains Negara.
