Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu) training teaches techniques that have evolved over a 1000-year period of warfare and peace in Japan, and which were used by the Samurai and Ninja of Japan’s feudal period.

The study of Bujinkan is essentially the study of self-preservation, perseverance and endurance over all obstacles, incorporating the preservation and continual refinement of the body, mind and spirit. Central to the philosophy of the Bujinkan, is improvement in student self-knowledge, self-improvement, and self-control while also learning self-defence.

Disciplining the body to re-learn correct physical alignment and movement is fundamental to understanding this art and plays an important role in developing a solid foundation for future learning. Before students learn self-defence against an attacker they will first and always learn to avoid physical confrontation, escape and avoid injury. Students will then begin learning higher level techniques involving punches, kicks, throws, grabs, joint locks, pressure point control, and grappling.

Our instructor is Gavin Barton – a father at the school who has been training for over 20 years and teaching for 6 years from his previous Dojo in Hornsby, NSW.

Also, while classes will be taught in English, Japanese will be used for a variety of commands and instructions. This presents another enrichment to the school’s Bilingual Program.

So, if you’re looking for variation in your training which includes training both the mind and the body, Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu may be for you!

Come along and check it out!
