Peripheral Machines for Welding Rod Making

In most modern welding electrode manufacturing plants, the entire process leading to packing is automated. This is because electrodes are produced in large numbers. Typically electrode manufacturers speak of capacities in millions of pieces. Since automation is unavoidable, the use of conveyor with a/c drives is the standard and prescribed norm for transfer of semi-finished rods from one process to the next. It is neigh impossible to handle the materials by hand under any circumstance.

If you are a manufacturer of welding electrode, you know how important it is to print the specifications, the purpose of the electrode, standards certification, manufacturer’s name, expiry date and so on and so forth. It is not really an option to print or not to, it is mandatory by law. Due to its critically important function, manufacturers order this from an online printing unit manufacturer. However, you should not confuse this printing unit with the printing you see on the paper boxes that are used for packing

welding electrodes. They are usually obtained externally from a different source.

The commercial flux procured from vendors is usually not used straight away in the manufacturing process. To process it further flux sieving machine manufacturer makes this machine for extracting foreign bodies out of the raw unprocessed flux. When you go in for a turnkey electrode making plant, the capacity of the sieving machine is decided by the overall production capacity of the unit itself. Otherwise you will have to make a detailed capacity analysis before ordering a sieving machine.

A briquetting slug press is also included in the manufacturing line. The object of this machine is to compact the flux after it has been thoroughly mixed with the binder. This will eliminate the fine pockets of air that get trapped into the flux slug. When there is an excess of air pockets in the slug, the resultant electrodes will be of poor quality and there is every possibility of the slug falling off from the metal wire in the core of the rod. When you order machineries see if the electrical fitted in the machines confirm to laid-out standards. Due to the nature of activity, you cannot afford to use non-standard fittings.
