Order of Worship - Sanctuary
PRELUDE - Music for the Royal Fireworks - Handel
Michael Olson, organist
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PRAYER
Reader - Harriett Light
Cantor - Gene Okerlund
Assisting Pastor - Pastor Corey Bjertness
BRIEF ORDER FOR CONFESSION
AND FORGIVENESS
P: In the name of the Father, and of the + Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen
P: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all
desires known, and from whom no secrets are
hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the
inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may
perfectly love you and worthily magnify your
holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
C: Amen
P: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our
sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our
sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
P: Most Merciful God,
C: we confess that we are in bondage to sin and
cannot free ourselves. We have sinned
against you in thought, word, and deed, by
what we have done and by what we have left
undone. We have not loved you with our
whole heart; we have not loved our
neighbors as ourselves.
For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have
mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead
us, so that we may delight in your will and
walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy
name. Amen

Our mission at First Lutheran Church is to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and to help them grow in the Christian faith.
If you sailed into church this morning on the tides of triumph or if you crawled in under the crushing blows of defeat... WELCOME. If your life has been blessed or if you are looking to be blessed… WELCOME. If you are here today seeking God or here to praise the God that has already found you… WELCOME. If you believe Jesus is the risen Son of God, or if you are here to explore the mysteries of faith… WELCOME. If your life has been a moral victory or a scarlet letter… WELCOME. Rich or poor… . Satisfied or hungry… . Liberal or conservative… . Traditional or contemporary… . Casual or formal… WELCOME. Whether you are feeling like a sinner or a saint today, you are WELCOME. We are just glad you are here. Our prayer is that you will leave this place with a song in your heart, a little closer to God, and that you have made a friend. God bless.
All of Us at First
Welcome to Worship!!!

+ Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

All: God of glory and love, peace comes from you alone. Send us as
peacemakers and witnesses to your kingdom, and fill our hearts
with joy in your promises of salvation; through your Son, Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen

PSALM 145:8-14 - Melody: Fred Til Bod 77 77 77
The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
I will praise you, God my King;
Ev'ry day my thanks I'll raise. The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.
Let the whole world join to sing
Songs of your exalted praise. All your works praise you, O Lord, and your faithful servants bless you.
They will speak of the glory of your royal power and tell of your might.
Let all creatures, great and small,
Praise the Lord, who cares for all! Everyone will know your mighty deeds
and the glorious majesty of your kingdom.
I will praise you, God my King;
Ev'ry day my thanks I'll raise. Your rule is eternal, and you are King forever.
Let the whole world join to sing
Songs of your exalted praise. The Lord is faithful to his promises, and merciful in all his acts.
Let all creatures, great and small,
Praise the Lord, who cares for all!
