Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport In 2011, 14.9 million passengers passed through the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

The Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is one of the best airports in the world.

The airport was completed in time for the 1952 Olympic Games.

• The length of recreation trails winding through Vantaa's terrains exceeds 300 kilometers. The majority of them have outdoor lighting.

• Cyclists and walkers are provided with light-traffic routes exceeding 600 km.

• Enthusiasts of winter sports are provided with 71 ice hockey rinks and skating areas, as well as 19 ski tracks. Hakunila also has a skiing stadium.

• There are 26 tennis courts, 9 skate-boarding places, and 3 golf courses.

Ring Rail Line - modern urban railway route open for traffic in 2014. • A joint project between the state and the City of Vantaa.

• The Ring Rail Line combines the Vantaankoski line, the airport, and the main line. New line amounts to 18 km, of which 7 km are in tunnel.

• At first, there will be four new stations: Kivistö, Aviapolis, the Airport, and Leinelä.

• There are also four station reservations: Vehkala, Petas, Viinikkala, and Ruskeasanta, in addition to which, the Lapinkylä station is being planned.

• The building costs amount to €590 million.

Leinelä - new kind of pleasant living

• A new residential area, Leinelä, is being built along the Ring Rail Line and major roads. Building started in 2009.

• Housing for over 2 500 people will be built in Leinelä, including apartment buildings, row houses, and semi-detached houses. •Leinelä residential area will be an entity where good transport connections are combined with the surrounding natural environment.•Environmental art is a close-knit part of Leinelä’s look, which further enhances the area’s pleasantness.

Marja-Vantaa – urban hometown of the future

• The most important new residential and workplace area in the metropolitan area.

• The idea competition for the control tower on the former Keimola motor-racing track was won by a work called "Ombra."

• Instead of the current 5 000 residents, in the future, Marja-Vantaa offers a home to approx. 30 000 residents.• A Housing fair is arranged in Marja-Vantaa in 2015.
