Please take a “Guest Information” card from the chair back pocket, complete both sides and place in the offering plate. During April a church family has offered to match any donation towards our Debt Reduction, up to $10,000. Praise God! The challenge has been met with more received besides! Praise the Lord! Let’s not quit, let’s take an even ‘bigger chunk’ off our debt.
This special day will take place on Sunday, May 10th during our morning worship service at 11:00am. If you wish to participate, please see Miss Pat TODAY. She will need the following information: your child’s full name, date of birth, and 2 to 3 pictures emailed to her.
Today is final day for the special offering going to support the work of the North American Mission Board and its more than 5,000 missionaries serving in the United States, Canada, and the U.S. territories.
Join us for a night of family fellowship on Friday, May
1st
from 6-8 p.m. (weather permitting.) We’ll be
playing soccer, volleyball, corn hole, and any other outdoor games you’d like to bring, along with enjoying the playground and pavilion. Food will not be provided, but feel free to bring a picnic dinner for your own family if you wish. We plan to schedule these fun nights
throughout the summer so that we can join together in fellowship as families and enjoy time on the open field!
It's time again for our annual ‘free yard sale’ to help those less fortunate in our community, and we need your help. We need donations of anything you would like to donate to help these people. Please NO clothing or large household items since room is limited in a single wide trailer. You can put donations in the HOH barrel in the narthex or wait for our drop off night at the HOH
house on May 1 from 5:30-7pm. If you wish to make other arrangements or if you have questions, please contact Anita Holloman. Thanks for generosity!
►Wed, May 6 - Youth Fellowship Party is “Big Friz.” We will be up at the pavilion and field playing Frisbee games. We will have food and a time of devotion. All 6th -12th grade students are invited! We will begin at 6:45pm and end around 8pm.
►Youth Camp Final Payments Will be due May 17! See Allen to make your payment or to check your balance due!
UBC Student Bulletins are online! Look under “Resources” for ‘Student Bulletins’! You can also pick one up at the Welcome center or in the Youth room.
There are a lot of unclaimed Bibles on the shelf above the coat rack. They are sorted by Bibles with names and Bibles without names. Any unclaimed Bibles will be donated to missions.
We have kicked-off the “Food Drive” to assist GAP’s great needs. Any non-perishable item is needed. Please check the expiration dates! The green collection barrel is in the narthex by the Welcome Center for your donations. Thank You!
After being a team for six years, minimally sighted Graham Waspe and his guide dog Edward suffered the loss of Edward’s vision. Very soon, Graham received a new guide dog, Opal, but he didn’t give Edward away. Instead, Opal now leads them both — and they all share strong bonds of love. Does God love us for the ways we serve him? When we can no longer carry out the tasks we’ve long done, will God love or approve of us less? We seem to believe so, judging by how we keep track of our good works and those of others. But God loves us for who we are — his children. Our deeds of service show our love for God in return; they don’t earn his love. When we become sick or disabled, God doesn’t count us worthless and dispose of us. He keeps loving us and brings others near to serve not only him but us as well. Like the retired guide dog, may we rest in that loving care. -copied

Prohibitions against prayer are now common in most public school graduations. But some students at a high school in Washington, Illinois, came up with a way around the ban. Ryan Brown, a graduate scheduled to give a speech, paused to bow in silent prayer as he approached the podium. Moments later, with all eyes on him, Brown faked a sneeze. In response, a handful of his friends shouted, “God bless you!”

SPECIAL CALLED BUSINESS MEETING
MAY 17TH
6pm To discuss changes to proposed by-law on marriage
ceremonies at UBC.
God’s Plan for Your Life Are you certain you have eternal life and will go to Heaven when you die? What would you say if you were standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” God’s Purpose: God loves us and has a purpose for our lives. The Bible says it this way: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16) Our Need: As we search for meaning in life, we discover that our sinful nature keeps us from fulfilling God purpose for our lives. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) God’s Provision: God is holy and just and must punish sin. Yet He loves us and provides forgiveness for our sin. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6) Our Response: The only way Jesus can affect our lives is for us to receive Him. We must surrender to Jesus as Lord. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Rom. 10:9-10) My Commitment: “Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and died to forgive me of my sins. I know I have sinned. I ask You to forgive me. I turn from my sins, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. I want to live for You the rest of my life. Amen.”
