Tioman Islands are located in the China Sea, East Coast of Malaysia, about 200 NM North of Singapore.

Tioman is a marine national park very famous for his crystal clear water and the beauty of his marine life.

Tioman is maybe the last unspoiled place of paradise in south east Asia : No mass tourism , no big buildings.

Wildlife and nature lovers will for sure enjoy their time in Tioman waters

Transport

There is 2 ways to reach Tioman

• By plane : 2 daily flights coming from Singapore ( Selatar airport) and Kuala Lumpur (Subang Airport), the airport of Tioman is just 5 minutes walking distance fom the marina.

• By Sea : 3 Ferry are coming daily from Mersing to Tioman

There is no ferry time table , as the ferry departure time depend of the tide. The ferry cannot go in or out of Mehrsing at low tide

Mersing is reachable Bus and taxi available from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur

Accommodation

Tioman offer a large range of accommodation From small bungalow to 4 star resort.

Provisionning

The provisioning in Tioman is really limited. All the goods are imported from the mainland. Cause Tioman is a duty free zone it`s very easy and cheap to buy alcohols Food wise, there is few shops in Tekek village but their stock is very poor.It`s very difficult to find vegetables, meat, ect...We strongly recommend our customers to order the food before coming to Tioman.You can find the provisioning order list on our website : http://www.dreamyachtcharter.com/

Weather

The weather-wise Tioman is good for sailing from April till September . During the South West monsoon season. During this season the wind is South West from 5 to 15knts. The evening storm can bring some strong wind and rain shower , but it never last longer than one hour. Weather forecast is available at the dream yacht base in Tekek , or during your cruise by sending a SMS to the base manager.

Phone

The phone coverage is quite good in most of all islands.It is possible to buy local cheap sim cards,especially for international calls

Local peoplesTioman is a Malaysian island , the Malaysian are speaking Malay bust most of them are speaking English as-well . They are very friendly and helpful .

The local money is the Malaysian Ringgit : RM , 1 euro=4 RM (depending of change rate)

The main religion in Malaysia is Muslim : it is nice to respect the culture of the country that you visit , please wear descent clothe when you are going to restaurants or villages.

Marine Park

All the islands are located inside the Malaysian national marine park. Fishing is allowed , but spear gun fishing is totally forbidden.

Tioman :

• A : Tekek : 2 DEG 49'9'' N 104 DEG 09'21'' E

Tekek is the main village of the archipelago. The anchorage is quite deep , it is recommended to take a mooring or simply go inside the marina in dream yacht places.There is a beautiful white sandy beach for your first swim in Malaysia...

• B : Salang Beach 2 DEG 52'42'' N 104 DEG 09'05'' E

Anchorage or mooring in front of the Salang beach, nice restaurants along the beach.

• C : Juara Bay : 2 DEG 47'17'' N 104 DEG 12'39'' E

Juara is the second village of Tioman, it`s a very good anchorage , well protected from the south west wind. The village is lovely :small roads full of flowers along the beach .In the south of the bay you can go visit the turtle sanctuary . Association which try to protect the turtles in the archipelago.

• D : Pulau Renggis 2 DEG 48'36'' N 104 DEG 8'9'' E

Next to the Berjaya resort and his golf , you can either anchor or take a mooring in Pulau Renggis.It`s the perfect spot for the first or last night of your cruise , just next door to tekek marina. You will enjoy the snorkeling over the colorful choral garden.

• E : Mukut Bay : 2DEG 43'07'' N 104DEG 10'52'' E

Mukut Bay is only a daytime Anchorage , it is not possible to spend the night.By fare weather it`s possible to anchor for few Hours in front of Mukut Bay.There is a nice Water fall just a few minutes walking distance from the beach.

F : Pulau Tulai : Coral Island : 2 DEG 54'46''N 104 DEG 05'49''

Pulau tulai is very famous for his snorkeling, it’s a daytime anchorage , it is not safe for night anchorage.You can anchor in the main bay in the west or take a mooring in the south west beach, be very careful and aware of the coral all around the island.

G: Pulau Labas : 2 DEG 53'20'' N 104 DEG 03'58''

Pulau Labas is a rocky small island full of birds with great snorkeling and diving, There is a submarine cave crossing the island from the north to the south.

There are 2 moorings in the north east of Labas which are safe for night anchorage.The nautical chart is not accurate for this island and it is much more deeper that the depth on the chart :impossible to drop anchor .

Pulau Seri Buat 2 DEG 42'30'' N 103 DEG 54'54''

The main Anchorage of Seri Buat is in the south west , just next to the coral reef linking the 2 islands.You cannot cross between this two island. The snorkeling on this coral reef is amazing. It is a very nice journey to go discover the river in the south east by dinghy ( Impossible to enter with sailing boat) , going up in the mangrove , hunting the delicious mangrove crabs .

If the south west wind is blowing very hard , it is better to anchor in the north part of the island

Babi Bessar Group : 2 DEG 26'50'' N 103 DEG 59'30''

The Babi bessar group is full of beautiful snorkeling spots , small white sandy beach on isolated islands, especially next to Pulau Rawa in the north of the islands group,the best anchorage place for night is in the east of babi bessar.On the west part of Babi Bessar , you will find a resort with a nice restaurant on the beach .

Pulau Tinggi : 2 DEG 19'01'' N 104 DEG 08'40'' E

There is 2 anchorage around pulau tinggi : • In the south east part of the island : anchorage in 10meters to 15meters just between pulau

Tinggi and pulau Simbang• in the south West part of Tinggi , on the west of the coral reef in front of the beach , this

anchorage is very beautiful but only safe during quiet weather

Pulau Sibu : 2 DEG 13'13'' N 104 DEG 05'01'' E

Pulau Sibu became the favorite week end place for the Singaporean people. You will find there restaurants and bars along the two long beaches in the east of the island.You can anchor the in 12 m on a sand bottom, be careful to not go to close to shore as a large band of coral is lying close to the beach.The south part of the island and Pulau sibu tengah are not accessible by sailing boat as it is full of coral patch.

Pulau Lima : 2 DEG 13'09'' N 104 DEG 08'31''E

If you are looking for a small piece of paradise , alone in the middle of china sea : Pulau Lima is your place : white sandy beach , crystal clear water , corals and fishes. Nothing is missing in pulau Lima.

The Anchorage is a day anchorage in the west of the island . Not safe for night anchorage .

Pulau Aur : 2 DEG 27'49'' N 104 DEG 29'36'' E

Pulau Aur is very famous for his diving spots : crystal clear water . very rich marine life.You can anchor or take a mooring between pulau Aur and pulau Dayang.Pulau Aur is the only place where you can refill water (with tekek marina), you will find a plastic floating pontoon in the canal between Aur and Dayang.Very nice trekking are possible around pulau Aur.

Pulau Pemmanggil : 2 DEG 35'25''N 104 DEG 20'52'' E

The anchorage of pemanggil is located in the east of t Teluk Kadar island:A very nice wreck is lying in the north of teluk kadar bay , in only 5 meter of water. Even a small kid can go and enjoy snorkeling on the wreck. There is a beautiful track all the way to the top of the bay.

Mersing

Mersing is the closest town on the mainland. The access to Mersing by sailing boat is very difficult due to the tides

The town has nothing special. We not recommend to stop in Mersing during your cruise.

Example of itinerary 8 Days 7 nights

Day 1: TiomanEmbarkation at 1:00 PM in Tekek marina, the only marina of the island. Installation on board and security briefing as well as cruise program. 45 Mn navigation toward North to Salang bay. Moorings in front of one of the most beautiful beach of the island, edged with a few local shops and bars bustling at night. First swimming and farniente after one night flight.

Day 2: Coral island - Pulau Seribuat/Pulau Sembilang45 MN navigation toward Coral Island, to moor in front of a magnificent white sandy beach. Close to the shore, you will see varans, these giant lizards sometimes reaching 3 meters, directly coming from prehistory. Snorkeling among very rich and varied sea depths.After lunch, 3 hours of navigation to reach Pulau Seribuat / Pulau Sembilang. Mooring between two islands. Exploration of mangrove. At low tide, a wide strip of white sand appears and both islands are meeting. A stroll in « Robinson Crusoe's » way.

Day 3: Pulau Harimau - Pulau Rawa - Pulau Tengah2 h 30 navigation through « stick of islets » of Pulau Harimau & Pulau Rawa. Moorings swimming in crystal waters, then lunch in this preserved paradise.45 MN navigation toward Pulau Tengah (where Survivor program was shot). Swimming & snorkelling in these transparent waters.

Day 4: Pulau Tinggi - Pulau Sibu2 h navigation toward Pulau Tinggi. Mooring: swimming, snorkeling, sun bath. After lunch, 1 h navigation toward Pulau Sibu. Peaceful atmosphere on the beach, edged with some local bars and restaurants for a nice « happy hour ».

Day 5: Pulau Aor4 h navigation for the most beautiful island of the Tioman archipelago. Mooring and lunch in the channel between Aor & Pulau Dayang.The locals of Aor, live with fishing and agriculture (many coconut palm trees). This island offers many fine white sandy beaches, edged with big granite rocks, looking like the ones in Seychelles.After lunch, Island excursion, with quite easy ascent till top of Batu Berhala, a very impressive rock formation, from its top view point is splendid to discover all Tioman islands group. 10 MN walk will lead you to a typical village with its police station, its school, tiny post office etc....

Day 6: Pulau Aor - Pulau PinangNavigation along the coast and moorings close to some of the most beautiful beaches: swimming and snorkelling in crystal waters, full of corals and multicolored fishes. Lunch BBQ on a beach. You will hear the screams of numerous local minas. In the evening, back to the mooring into the channel.

Day 7: Pulau Pemangil - Tioman2 h 30 navigation to reach Pulau Pemangil. Snorkelling above a 19th century commercial ship wreck, at 10 meters depth. Corals offer an outstanding range of colors and you are surrounded by hundred of fishes. Lunch on a mooring North West of the island, edged with typical fisherman huts. 2 h navigation back to Tekek (Tioman). Discovery of Tekek, administrative & commercial center of the islands. There you can purchase local handcraft in the market. Village « stretches » along a 800 m road, giving the opportunity of a last walk.

Day 8: Disembarkation at 7.00 AM
