Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes on PE days.

Lunch Time11:30-12:00

-15 min. eat time and 15 min. talk time-Parents are welcome, but only your child can sit with you.Sign-in at the office & meet us in the cafeteria.-Please no visitors the first 2 weeks as we establish rules & procedures for the cafeteria.

Recess 12:00-12:30Please check the weather each day and help your child dress appropriately.If the temperature is too hot or cold according to district guidelines, or if it’s raining, we will stay inside

Snack & Water Bottles

*Students will be able to eat a snack in the

afternoon. Please make sure the snack is

“classroom friendly.” Spills bring bugs!

NO PEANUTS!

*Only water bottles in class please; no juice.

NO FOOD is allowed for birthday celebrations. You can bring a special prize such as pencils or party favors. We will have 3 parties this

year: a winter holiday party, a Valentine’s Day party, and an end of year party on the last day of school! All food will need to be store bought with ingredients labels attached.

*Tools to communicate and sources for reflection on the day’s learning.

*Homework folders will come home around week 3 as a way to stay organized and bring homework back and forth from home to school.

*Please make sure your child gets in the habit of remembering their planner and folder daily!

*Homework will include reading, spelling practice, and eventually math practice.

*If you’d like to volunteer to be our class’ room mom or dad, please let me know ASAP.*The room parent only has a few jobs, and it mostly involves helping me prepare for class parties.*There will be a meeting with the PTO to learn more about room parent roles. I will share that information with you once I’ve made arrangements with a room parent volunteer.

*If you’d like to volunteer at school, or plan to be helping at school this year, be sure to go online and complete the annual background check.*We will have one field trip this year, and you’ll need an approved background check to attend with us.

*Dismissal will now begin at 2:55.*Car rider – Stay in your car and

follow the long line of cars. (It will get faster.)

*Don’t forget your pick-up card.*If you need to change your

child’s dismissal plan, please call the office and email me ASAP.

• Reporting student performance on specific objectives (Texas Education Knowledge & Skills aka TEKS)

• Nine week reporting period• Unique card for every grade level based on that grade’s

curriculum• Grades are given based on a rubric with numbers 1-4.• First report card will be distributed in a parent-teacher

conference – look for sign-up sheet.• Report Cards will be filled out electronically

and a copy will be sent home for you to keep

each 9 weeks. Please return the signature card.
