I know it sounds obvious but don’t forget to put your inner pot into your PKP before you cook (it happens!)

Always make sure you use some liquid when you cook with a pressure cooker – it doesn’t need to be water; chopped tomatoes, wine, stock or virtually any liquid will do.

Food with skins (e.g. sausages, chicken, apples) must be pierced before cooking. This is to prevent pockets of pressure building up that may cause splashing of hot food when you open the lid.

To close your Pressure King Pro, line up the arrows on the lid and turn anti-clockwise until it clicks into place. You should never need to force the lid.

Pop in the pot

Add liquid

Our recipes will let you know which programme to select. Your display will start counting down once your Pressure King Pro has come up to temperature.

Turning the pressure valve to ‘Closed’ puts your Pressure King Pro into pressure cooking mode for great food, fast!

If want to use your Pressure King Pro as a slow cooker, simply put the lid on as above but leave the pressure valve in the Open Position.

Once your food has finished cooking, we recommend wearing oven mitts and an apron before releasing pressure and opening the lid.

1. Quick or Slow ReleaseFor most recipes we recommend leaving your PKP to stand for 15 minutes before releasing the steam, we call this ‘Slow Release’. If you’re cooking delicate foods like fish or green vegetables a ‘Quick Release’ keeps your food fresh and tasty. All our recipes tell you which release method is best.

2. Open the Pressure Valve carefully and wait until all the steam has completely released. This takes a few minutes.

3. Check the float valve and make sure it’s dropped down completely before opening and never force the lid. Take care when opening as the food inside will be piping hot and ready for you to enjoy!

The really important thing to remember about pressure cooking is that when the programme has finished cooking, you need to make sure all the steam is released before opening the lid.
