Vets To Go Inc.How Does Our Service Work?Our veterinarians come to your door equipped with the diagnostic tools, supplies, medication, and everything required to provide the advice and support your pet needs.

To further support all aspects of your pet’s health, our state-of-the-art Private Surgery and Wellness Centre located in central Calgary provides surgery, in-house laboratory, pharmacy, full body and dental x-rays and a variety of other services we can’t perform in the home.

Generally speaking, we can schedule an appointment for you within a few days of calling, depending on our schedule.

Vets To Go does not provide emergency services for situations like vehicle accidents, poisoning, foreign body ingestions, etc. In such cases we recommend that you immediately take your pet to the nearest 24-hour emergency pet hospital where they have all the necessary diagnostic equipment and medications available onsite.

While we can’t provide surgical, dental or diagnostic services in the home, we do provide non-emergency procedures at our Private Surgery and Wellness Centre in central Calgary. Whether it’s a spay/neuter, a dental cleaning or tooth extraction, x-rays on an injury, Vets To Go can provide complete veterinary care both in-home and in-clinic, as needed.

What Do Our Services Cost?So here it is – the #1 question we get: “How Much?”We work very hard to keep our fees as reasonable as possible for the personalized services we provide, and most of our clients tell us that our service fees are very comparable to previous experiences they’ve had.

When someone becomes a new client with Vets To Go, the first step is to have one of our vets do a full medical exam on your pet(s). Not only is an exam required by the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA) in order for us to prescribe any medications or administer vaccines, it’s a critical step for us to gain a complete overview and understanding of your pet’s health.

Vaccinations: $27.00 (plus GST). We follow the Minimum Vaccine Protocol, which means we generally recommend 3-year vaccination schedules, whenever possible.

“Paws To Rest” – Private In-Home EuthanasiaOne of the most difficult decisions any pet owner faces is when it's time to say goodbye to their beloved friend. Our “Paws To Rest” service provides you a compassionate, loving way to say goodbye to your pet at home where they’re comfortable and at peace. It helps create positive, warm memories of an otherwise difficult time, and we treat your pet like we would our own.Paws To Rest helps ensure that the final moments with your pet are warm, peaceful, private, and cherished.

Our Paws To Rest Euthanasia Service Includes the Following:

We work hard to accommodate short-notice appointments whenever possible, based on our availability. To avoid disappointment, we recommend scheduling an appointment in advance, before your pet is in distress.

For everything mentioned above, the Paws To Rest service fee is $275.00. To make this process less stressful, our team can also handle all aftercare of your pet, including handling the remains, cremation services, and ordering memorial keepsakes. Alternatively, you may choose to handle the remains yourself after the service is completed.

“Paws To Rest” – Cremation & Aftercare Services

Private Cremation: Your pet will be cremated individually and the ashes will be returned to you in a simple scatter

In addition to providing the actual euthanasia service, we also have our own team that provides pickup and arranges cremation for your pet after the euthanasia is complete. Our aftercare team are all veterinary industry trained professionals, so you can rest assured that your pet will be treated with the utmost care and compassion.

When considering cremation, there are two options:

Cremation fees are determined by the pet's weight and the desired cremation option, as shown below. If Vets To Go provides the euthanasia service, there is no pickup fee added to the cremation price. If we are only providing pickup and cremation (without euthanasia services), a pickup fee of up to $59 applies, in addition to cremation fees.

General Cremation: Your pet will be lovingly cremated with other pets and the ashes will be scattered together on a private acreage in southern Alberta.

Frequently Asked Questions

When Are You Available For Appointments?We usually book appointments 2-3 days in advance, but you’ll have the best selection of appointment times the further in advance you schedule. We book our vets throughout the week including evenings. We are closed for statutory holidays.

How Does Your Service Work?It’s very simple! Once you schedule an appointment with us, we’ll come to your home and provide the services you need — an exam, nail trim, vaccinations, blood work, small lump removal, etc. Since all of your pet’s records are kept electronically, we’re able to email you a copy of the exam records and documents.A typical appointment lasts about 25-30 minutes, and you have ample time to ask any questions you’d like. We take payment while we’re there and can provide any needed prescriptions as well.

What Areas Do You Service?Currently, we operate in the Calgary area and provide service to several outlying communities including Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere. We're also in the Edmonton area, including St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Leduc, and Beaumont.

What About Things Like X-Rays, ECGs, Surgery, etc.?No problem! For any services or treatments that can’t be completed in-home, our Private Surgery and Wellness Centre in central Calgary provides a full range of surgery, pharmacy, full body and dental x-ray imaging, lab work and other services, as needed. We’re committed to your pet’s complete health and wellness, and to providing our services in the most convenient and stress-free way we can.

Why Should I Consider a Mobile Vet Service?Having a vet come to your house is a completely different experience. Not only does it significantly change the dynamic and experience your pet has, it’s far more convenient for you! Your pet avoids stressful car rides and interactions with other animals, and gets to stay in the familiar surroundings of home.

In-home veterinary care is especially beneficial for senior pet owners and older pets where mobility and travelling have become an issue. Not only will you get a more personal, customized, and attentive appointment at your convenience, pets often feel more comfortable and relaxed in their own environment.
