Welcome to the Verde Valley Vettes
The Verde Valley Vettes was formed in August 1996 by a group of
Corvette enthusiasts who wanted to enjoy their common interest and
give back to their community. Located in central Arizona, the club
is a member of the Roadrunner Region of the National Council of
Corvette Clubs (NCCC).
Throughout the year the club organizes events in support of local
charities, such as the Big Brothers - Big Sisters Christmas giving
program, and, through the NCCC, supports St. Judes Children’s
Research Hospital.
Members enjoy rallies, car shows, picnics, drive-outs, competitive
driving and many other activities, all of which make owning a
Corvette an even more enjoyable experience. To join, e-mail Bob
McFarland at [email protected] or call 928-282-1718.

President’s Message
As we begin a new year, we should reflect on what we
accomplished as a club in 2019. What we did right, what we did
wrong and what we are going to do to improve our club. At our
January meeting we will be discussing a few ideas to improve our
car shows at Larry Green's Chevrolet and G-burgers. Please attend
this meeting and come with some ideas to share.
Don't forget the Roadrunner Region Kickoff event Feb 14- Feb
16. Flyer is in the newsletter and linked on our website.
Clarkdale Car Show is March 14, 2020. Registration and
information at clarkdalecarshow.com or on our website.
We have several members of our club that are dealing with serious
illness, injuries, and medical issues. Please keep them in your
thoughts and prayers. Especially include Jim Schade in your
thoughts, prayers.
Next meeting at Annie's, Sunday January 25, 2020, 9:30 AM.
Be proud of your Corvette. Be proud of your club.
Jim Dawson, President
Governor’s Report
Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately, we just lost a wonderful member of our club,
Dorothy Schade. I am sure she will be remembered and missed by
everyone as she was one of our most active members. I know I will
miss her.
Nothing has happened in the region so far, but the calendar is
starting to fill up, with the first events scheduled for March and
April, four autocrosses in Sierra Vista and a people’s choice car
show in Phoenix. The flyers are not out yet so keep checking the
Roadrunner website or the Verde Valley Vettes calendar.
All the events have not been tallied for the region yet; there are
two events still outstanding, so I can’t report on where we stand
within the region, but presently we are in 2nd place. Hopefully
the 2019 results will be finalized soon.
I want to remind everyone of the Roadrunner Region Kickoff in
February, there are some great activities planned and I am sure
that it will be a fun weekend. Make your reservations SOON as
the rooms are filling up fast.

Passed 1/17/2020
She will be missed
There were four 2020 Corvettes on display at Barrett-Jackson;
three coupes (red, white and blue) and an orange convertible.
Production is scheduled to start next month and early deliveries
should begin in March. This was my first look at the new car
and it is quite something. The only shortcoming I see is that the
luggage area in the coupe has been significantly reduced. C8
s/n 0001 was auctioned for $3,000,000.00 to Rick Hendrick.
Looking ahead, the Roadrunner Regional Kickoff will be held
February 14 – 15; the Clarkdale Car Show will be held March
14 and the MUHS Car Show is scheduled for March 21. Links
to flyers and registration forms for these events and more can be
found on our website calendar.
Next Meeting will be held 9:30 AM Sunday, January 26, at
Annie’s restaurant, 660 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood, AZ
The 2020 Clarkdale Car Show will be held
March 14, 2020 from 9am - 2pm.
