What Is It?We provide tutoring services to assist you with:
• Essays• Personal Statements• Applications• Resumes
We can help you use a computer to write your papers.

Appointment Information• Set appointments through Canvas https://alamo.instructure.com/courses/1292274 , email ([email protected]) or by phone at least one (1) day before your assignment is due.
• Twenty minute tutorial guaranteed.
• Please arrive on time for your scheduled Zoom appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may be cancelled.
• As a courtesy, call or email to cancel appointments ahead of time.
• We will set our last appointments an hour before closing.
Tutorials
• Once we re-open for face-to-face tutoring, walk-ins will be seen on a “first come - first served” basis and tutorials will be approximately 20 minutes long
• Notify staff of your arrival
• Students may receive assistance at any point in the writing process: brainstorming, outlining, thesis development, and essay formatting
• We will teach you how to develop your own editing skills!
Things We Will Do
Help you format your essay in MLA, Chicago, or APA styles
Assist with English, as well as Sociology, Political Science, History, Allied Health, or Art History papers (any discipline)
Guide you through applying to various programs (Nursing, Culinary Arts, Physical Therapy, etc.) and jobs (Job-Specific Resumes)
Help you use a computer, especially Microsoft Word & PowerPoint
Help you with oral presentations or speeches
Help you develop strategies to improve your reading comprehension
When you come visit us at the Center (once we reopen) or online, you should:
• Have a positive attitude• Have your assignment sheet with you• Come in with some ideas about how you want to start your
paper• Be prepared to look at your
own work critically

Tiger PAWS Literary & Art Journal
Tiger PAWS (Personal Academic Writing Space) is a showcase of student writing, in both English and Spanish, and graphic or visual art that is published in hardcopy and online formats at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters. All St. Philip’s students are encouraged to submit their writing and artwork for possible publication.
Categories include:
• Short Fiction (1000 word limit)
• Non-fiction (essays, journals, literary criticism, etc.)
• Poetry
• Photography
• Fine Art (paintings, sculpture, collages, etc.)
• Digital Art
