President's Message

Congratulations on making it through 2018 and the hecticholidays. I can't believe we are almost into the secondmonth of the year. A couple weeks ago, our Chapter had itsannual Kick-Off Event at Ferguson Showroom and it was oneof the best kick-off meeting we've had in recent years. Fromthe social media game & scavenger showroom hunt to thenetworking and raffles, we couldn't have asked for a betterturnout and experience. I would like to thank Roseann, ourProgram's Chair for creating the event game and forcoordinating the night with our event/venue host FergusonBath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery. Also a huge thank you toour 2019 Sponsors and Event Sponsors for donating the swagfor the raffles (see below).

We have a great year planned for our Chapter. In additionto NKBA's Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and NAHB'sInternational Building Show (IBS) in Vegas next month, wehave some exciting and fun CEU opportunities, neighborisland events, networking fun, and various get-togetherswith our industry partners BIA Hawaii, ASID Hawaii, IIDAHawaii, AIA Honolulu and our students at ChaminadeUniversity and Honolulu Community College. BIA Hawaii has invited the Aloha Chapterto host two seminars again this year at theannual Big Home Building & RemodelingShow. We have two seminars forhomeowners to attend: Condo Kitchen &Bath Design (Saturday) and Kitchen & BathTrends (Sunday). The Neighbor Island Committee wasestablished this year to bridge the gap withour members who live and work on theislands of Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai. Thecommittee members will be liaisons withour Program's Chair and the rest of thecouncil to help coordinate events,meetings, and CEU opportunities on theother islands. Karri Hogan, CKD of RoyLambrecht Woodworking will representKona, Michelle Turner, UDCP ofPoggenpohl Kitchens Hawaii will representMaui, and Andrew Lui-Kwan of LG Hausyswill represent Oahu.
