If you would like to remember your loved ones, please complete the form below and return it to the parish office, along with your donation, no later than Monday, Dec. 22. THANK YOU!! DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS Help is needed prepare our church for Christmas on Monday, Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. It will take approximately six hours to decorate that day, so bring your friends to help! Men are needed on Sunday, Dec. 21, to bring up the trees from the basement and to begin assembling them. Please call the parish office at (262) 248-8524 or email [email protected] if you can help.

TWO BIG THANK YOUS! Thank you to Pam Lenon of Gardenscapes, for once again donating the plants and upkeep of the gardens throughout the year! The crew of Gardenscapes does a wonderful job providing beauty to the grounds of our parish. We wish to also thank Dan and Sandy Derrick of Derrick Funeral Home for their generosity in providing our 2015 calendars. The calendars are available at the church entrances. We are so fortunate to have such generous people as part of our St. Francis de Sales Community!

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK… Dear Parishioners, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light…For a child is born to us, a son is given to us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:1; 5) Isaiah prophesied about the coming of the Messiah, and this prophecy is fulfilled in Jesus, the Son of Mary, born in Bethlehem. What wonders this child will work! As Wonder-Counselor, he will guide his people along the right paths. As God-Hero, he will do battle with the powers of evil. As Father-Forever, he will provide for all those entrusted to him. As Prince of Peace he will establish and safeguard wholeness and harmony in all of creation. The birth of Christ in Bethlehem brings light into the darkness of our troubled world. With a Child to lead us, we face our struggles with renewed hope. May the Prince of Peace bring healing and peace into our lives! A Blessed Christmas to you and yours! God’s Blessings, Fr. Jim Schuerman

¡Feliz Navidad! ¡Que Dios los bendiga! Padre Jim Schuerman

WANTED: A FEW GOOD MEN Walworth County Men’s Shelter will be at the Chapel on the Hill for one week in December and again for a week in January, as well as a week in February. St. Francis de Sales partners with the Chapel on the Hill to provide several suppers, groceries and overnight chaperones. The December week begins Dec. 21 and includes Christmas. What a wonderful Advent opportunity to offer shelter to those without a home of their own. Could several men of the parish cover one night as chaperones together? That’s the greatest need. The chaperones sleep in a separate room. A chaperone partner will be provided if needed. Please give this prayerful thought. Interested? Call the Chapel on the Hill at (262) 245-9122. “Whatever you do for the least of my brethren, you do unto Me.” What a Christmas present for Our Lord. —Submitted by the Human Concerns Committee

YOU HAVE FAMILY IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC For more than 30 years, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the parish of La Sagrada Familia have been united at the heart. Make your gift at worldmissions.archmildonate.org. And you’re invited to visit the parish, to experience the faith, joy and friendship of this special bond for yourself! Learn more today. Help your family today! There will be a second collection to benefit La Sagrada Familia the weekend of Dec. 20/21.

SHEPHERDS OF CHRIST PRAYER GROUP During the Christmas Season, we invite you to pray this prayer from our prayer manual for all members of the human family. We ask Your special assistance for all those marginalized people, all those who are so neglected and forgotten. United with our Mother Mary, we make this petition to You through Jesus and in the Holy Spirit. Our group will meet again in January.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM OUR SEMINARIAN Peace of Christ! I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and I hope all is well. Please know of my thoughts and prayers, and I already look forward to returning for another summer internship at St. Francis next year. Here in Rome, classes continue to go well and I have enjoyed the opportunity to give several “practice homilies” as part of our priestly formation program. If there is ever any way I could pray for you, or be of any other help, please don’t hesitate to be in touch via e-mail: [email protected]. Have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thanks and God Bless, John Baumgardner, Seminarian

2014 SFDS PARISH CENSUS We’re taking a parish-wide census to update our database. Whether you are a fulltime or seasonal parishioner, we welcome you as a member! Please return your form (and the Time and Talent survey) by Dec. 30 via mail or by dropping it off at church. If you need a form, there are some by the parish entrances, or you can stop by the office. Thanks to all of you who have already participated!

HELP FOR THE HOLIDAYS There are envelopes at the entrances to the church as well as in the office for special giving for Christmas. All donations are kept local to help out our local citizens in need. May God Bless You for your continued generosity. —Human Concerns Committee
