Welcome to The Church on the Rock

Communion – Responsive Psalm 118:14-24

The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things! The LORD’s right hand is lifted high; the LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!”I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

Communion – Responsive Psalm 118:14-24

The LORD has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD.This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter.I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.

Communion – Responsive Psalm 118:14-24

The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone;the LORD has done this, and it is marvellous in our eyes.(Together) This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Theme: “The Tomb is Empty – The Dawn of New Life”

Matthew 28:1-10

EASTER SUNDAY

Matthew 28:1-10

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

Matthew 28:1-10 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: `He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

Matthew 28:1-10So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshipped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

The Message of Easter

Revelation 21:3-4And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

John 6:47I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.

6. We are saved from sin & born again – by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone
