Mission Statement St. Joseph Parish, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, is a community of God’s people. We, as a faith-filled com-munity, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, worship the Father by imitating the Son. We reach out to all people by evangelizing through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy for the dignity of all human life. By our daily proclamation of the Gospel and celebration of the sacraments, addressing our spiritual, social and educational needs, we shine with the love of Christ.

We congratulate
Elliston Steven Dice
who was baptized on
September 3, 2017.
Elliston is the son of
Kyle and Erica Dice.
Real disciples of Jesus love their neighbor…and speak up whether easy or difficult because they do love. Real dis-ciples of Jesus are willing to try many times to turn some-one from evil to good, to God. Real disciples of Jesus pray before they act, even engaging others to join their prayer…”for where two or three are gathered in my Name, there am I in the midst of them.” He never prom-ised us that following Him, being a disciple, would be easy. Indeed, it is not for the faint of heart. It may be costly, calling us to abandon a friendship or a job that is contributing to our sinfulness. When I think about all this, I sometimes get discouraged…why keep trying, because I will never be a perfect disciple. When I get like that and pray about it, I usually get back on track by remembering that discipleship of Jesus is a journey, not an accom-plished fact. I will always be in need to come closer, to follow better, to grow deeper. Why? Because the journey into His love, His kind of love, is always a mystery, always unfinished business. Just when I think I have arrived, He will show me the road ahead…what part of me needs His love next. Real disciples of Jesus are on a lifelong jour-ney, an unfolding mystery to be lived out daily. Real dis-ciples of Jesus…you are in good company. I am ready to move forward on the revived Board for St Martin Ministries. Before announcing the Board members, I want to give you the opportunity to see it’s purpose, scope of authority, general direction and responsibility. To that end, there is a stuffer in the bulletin about the Board. The revived Board is in place as of September 1, 2017. St Martin of Tours, pray for this wonderful ministry in our parish. And pray God’s blessings on all who have volunteered so generously over the years. Next weekend we are having Registration Sunday at all Masses. Forms will be available at all doors, tables in front and back with someone to assist you. Please, I would like everyone to register…new people so we get a clear idea of how many people/families we have… already registered folks so you can update your info for us. We have some registrations that still have married and moved away children on the parents form. Preferably, fill it out here today…if you need to take it home, please return it next weekend. St Joseph, pray for us. Fr. Jim
