Welcome to the BB-DanceCamp 2017. We are celebrating the 30th anniversary!

The BB-DanceCamp, formerly known (until 2012) as Boogie-Bears-Pentecost seminar, is one of the oldest swing dance camps inEurope! We are very happy that this year we get to spend three days and nights full of Boogie Woogie and Lindy Hop, music andparty with you, already for the 30th time! We are celebrating the 30th anniversary!

Did you know that the BB-DanceCamp has already been held for the past 30 years?Actually, the "Pfingstseminar" (pentecost seminar), as the camp was called until 2012, was one of the first international swing camps in Europe. Many today-famous teachers in the swing-scene had their first workshops with allstars like Frank Manning and others in Landsberg.

In the anniversary year, our schedule has a lot to offer. Among other things we have planned for you:

-The best show acts on Saturday and Sunday

Join the interview with co-founders and driving motors of the development of both dances in Germany - Baerbl Kaufer and Marcus Koch in the framework of our Talk on Friday. MC will be Stephan Wuthe.

Warming up for the weekend. Come over, shake off the troubles of your week, meet the teachers and get into the dancing mood. You are very welcome to enjoy the best Boogie Woogie and Lindy Hop music provided by our DJs!

Welcome and Information Session (9:15, Sportzentrum)

Classes and level check (10:00)for all Boogie dancers at Sportzentrumfor all Lindy dancers at GymnasiumThe first part of the classes will be used for a level check, to find a harmonious level in the classes. Details will be provided at the welcome and information session.

The BBDC Birthday Ball (21.00, Sportzentrum) The BBDC Birthday Ball is held at the Sportzentrum Landsberg. This means: Short distances for all of us.With 200 square meters of dancefloor we will magically turn the sports hall into a ballroom.Billie and the Kids as well as our DJs Stephan Wuthe, Siegi Spiel, Markus Rosendahl and more will light your fire with dance music of the finest on two always-open dancefloors.Further events:-Awe-inspiring show acts -The Frankie Award 2017-Host of the evening is Florian PogatsPlease wear your finest dancing evening wear, so that the night will be glamorous!

For all night-owls: starting at 1:00 in the morning, the night goes on in the Swing-Diele. You get to dance as long as your feet carry you and the music is playing.

The BBDC Swingin‘ Celebration Night (21:00, Sportzentrum)

In the anniversary year, everything is a bit different, therefore there will be a live band also on sunday night. For the Swing dancers, the Andreas Hofschneider Quartett with Andrej Hermlin at the Piano will be playing. There is a lot of room for Swing-Outs - on Sunday the Lindy dancefloor is in the large hall.The best DJ-Acts for Boogie Woogie and Rock 'n' Roll will be playing in the Swingdiele - look forward to Markus Rosendahl, Ralph Heuer and plenty more!Further events:-The anniversary trophy: A competition for everyone

General Information

Check-In Please bring your booking confirmation to the check-in!

Where: At Sportzentrum

When: Friday 17:00 to 23:00

Saturday 8:00 to 9:15

Sunday 9:00 to 9:45

Participants below 18 years of age: Please bring a signed declaration from your guardian allowing you to participate. Without such a declaration we are unfortunately not allowed to let under-age participants take part.

Trainees / Students: Please bring recent proof of your status. Without such proof, you will have to pay the difference towards the regular price.

Important info for late payments: In case your payment has not arrived in our account by Thursday, June 1, 2017, and you do not bring proof or your money order (bank statement), you will have to pay the entire course fee (and if ordered evening event tickets) in cash. Your participation is only possible with confirmed payment. In case of your incoming payment overlapping with the begin of of the BB-DanceCamp, you will of course receive your over-paid amount.

Evidently, you can also purchase tickets for the parties for Saturday and Sunday night at check-in. The price is 23 Euro per person.

Please note that at check-in and at the info-desk payment is only possible in cash! Payment with EC-cards or credit cards is notpossible.

Identification

At check-in you will receive wristbands which are your identification at BB-DanceCamp 2017. Please have your wristband on yourperson at any given time. You will not be allowed to participate in the classes without!

Info-desk

Our info-desk is in the foyer of the Sportzentrums. Here, all your questions regarding the BB-DanceCamp will be answered. Theopening times are available at the bulletin at the info-desk.

Shops

In the foyer and in the Swing-Diele you can shop until you drop: There is vintage clothing, CDs, dancing shoes, hair decoration,hats and much more. In our Boogie Bears shop in the Swing-Diele you can buy the official Anniversary Camp Shirt.

Participation at your own risk

The participation in the classes and the dance camp events is at your own risk. This is especially true for the participation in theAerials-classes! Of course, there will be paramedics at our Camp! Please have your insurance card or proof of insurance at theready.

RV spots with electricityThere is a limited number of spots for RVs with an electricity connection. There are available only by advance-booking. Please register before your arrival. More information on our website: www.bb-dancecamp.de.

Valuables

Please mind your valuables! We will not cover your loss.

In case you have lost or found something, please talk to our team at the orga-office - there is a lost&found box there. We kindly ask for your understanding that we will not mail lost items after the camp! In case you have lost something, please ask at bbdc@boogie-baeren.de, if something has been handed in, so that you can pick up your lost treasure.

Photography and film

You can take pictures and videos of the BB-DanceCamp and at the Boogie- and Swing-Ball only for private purposes. A violation isa breach of contract and will be prosecuted. Please follow the rules!

Food

Breakfast

You can buy breakfast every day starting at 8.00 from the restaurant at Sportzentrum. There is a buffet with rolls, bread, cheese, cold meats, etc..

For lunch you can:

… enjoy one of our nice BBDC-Lunch-Meals,

… indulge in coffee specialties and sweets at Swing-Diele,

… cater for yourself (Pizza, Mc Donald’s etc. is available closeby, more information: www.bb-dancecamp.de).

The BBDC-Lunch-Meals and respectively the lunch at the inn at Sportzentrum:

Our BBDC-Lunch-Meals 2017 are:

• Greek salad

• Mixed salad with turkey

• Large salad bowl

• Pasta bolognese

• Porc ragout with Spätzle (noodles)

• Rice with vegetables

The restaurant will offer these dishes at a special discount.

Coupons

Since we are a lot of dancers, ordering a la carte would take a long time. Therefore coupons can be purchased at check-in or at the Gymnasium. With these coupons we tell the kitchen before the lunch break, how many dishes need to be prepared for lunch.

Purchasing coupons: At Check-In oder at the Gymnasium.

If you do not have a coupon, you order at the restaurant at Sportzentrum anyway (the waiting time though can be a bit longer).

Food at the Gymnasium

There are sandwiches, Soft pretzels, fruit, chocolate bars, soft drinks and coffee at the shop at the Gymnasium.

Food at night

Please cater for yourself. The inn at the Sportzentrum is open.

Information regarding the classes

Class venues

There will be a lot of classes at in total 10 different sports halls. Please look at our overview plan. The venue of your course is available from the schedule. All sports halls except for the “Grundschule in der Katharinenvorstadt”, can easily be reached on foot from the Sportzentrum in only a few minutes. There are signs showing how to get there.

Level-Check

When: Saturday 10:00, as part of the classes

Boogie Woogie at Sportzentrum

Lindy Hop at the Gymnasium

The first class on Saturday is a level check, in which you can test if your chosen class is a perfect fit. There will be no audition. The participants and the teachers decide if your level matches your class. If you think you should switch classes after this first lesson, you can talk to the teachers and then pick up a new wristband at the info-desk.

Attention Lindy Intensive! Here the class content builds on one another, but is identical within the three Intensive classes. After the first lesson a switch is not recommended. There is the possibility though to dance the level check in the intensive class and then switch to lindy open, if necessary, and if there are free spots.There will be more information in this regards at the welcome and information session.

Classes

There are 10 Sports halls. Please find in the schedule where your courses are held.

Taster-classes

The taster classes have different topics. You can decide on the go, which class you would like to participate in. Important: You need to heed the entry requirements the individual classes, e.g. Aerials!

The topics of the taster classes are shown in the schedule and in a brief summary available at the info-desk.

Dancing shoes / locker rooms

Please only enter the sport halls in dancing shoes without heels.

Locker rooms are available at every venue.

Change Partners!

In all classes, except Aerials, we are switching partners. Join us! Leading and following is a basic principle of swing dances. You practice this best, if you dance with different partners. Moreover, you will meet a bunch of great people!

Filming and Photography in the classes

Registered BBDC participants may - if the teacher gives consent - film and photograph class summaries for private purposes. Please ask the teachers if they would like to give you such a summary.

In need of dancing shoes of clothing? Then the place for you is the BBDC shops. From original 30s, 40s or 50s outfit to training clothing everything is available.
