WELCOME TO THEHeld in Mpumalanga South Africa, Pre -

Thursday Afternoon - SASOL SHAKEDOWN - SABIE:(Shakedown Stage - York-OLIFANTSGERAAMTE)

- The shakedown stage will be held on a section of Stage 1 between the Lone Creek Falls road (D2220) and the Long Tom Pass (R532 Sabie-Lydenburg road.

- From Nelspruit, proceed with either: (See map for All Stages & detailed map for Stage 1)- a. The R40 towards White River & then the R537 to Sabie

b. The R37 towards Sabie/Lydenburg up to the T-Junction turn-off & then the R532 to Sabie.

- Start of Shakedown: From Sabie proceed with Main Street (R532) north towards Graskop, turn LEFT in Lydenburg Road towards Bridal Veil Falls/Lone Creek Falls, drive out of Sabie past the Bridal Veils Falls and the York Timbers Sawmill. The start of the shakedown stage starts on the left just past the end of the sawmill grounds. See Map for Stage 1 (refer GPS 2 ).

- Middle of Shakedown: From Sabie proceed with the R532 towards Lydenburg up to either the 51/66 km or 51/0km Sign Post. On arrival, park your vehicle next the R532 at one of the points as per the map and watch the rally cars circulating on the stage.See detailed Map for Stage 1 (refer GPS 3).

- You are also welcome to browse around and view the rally teams at the Service Area next to the York Sawmill on the D2220, as they change the set-up of their vehicles & then run the shakedown stage repeatedly to improve their performance.

Thursday Evening - SASOL PITSTOP - SABIE:

- From Nelspruit for �60kms, proceed to the R40 (White River / Barberton road) and then travel towards White River, just before White River turn left at robot and travel towards Sabie (R537).

- On arrival in Sabie, park your vehicle & join the various activities in central Sabie between the SABIE Town Hall and the SPAR Market Square, around Main (Hoof) Street. See the SABIETown map.

- You are welcome to browse around this area and snack on the many “goodies” that are on sale by the locals at the various stalls.

- You can join in the fun and meet the different Rally Teams to view their cars & get some autographs and posters.

- A pre-rally decal check and scrutineering of the rally cars will take place in front of the MTN shop on the Sabie Market Square.

- Documentation for the rally will be in the CONFERENCE CENTRE on premises of the FLOREAT RIVERSIDE LODGE in Lydenburg Road.

While the Promoters and Organisers of the SASOL RALLY have taken every possible precaution for the safety of the spectators, itis impossible to guarantee their safety in view of the high speedsattained by the competitors. Entry to the special stages and other rally roads is therefore permitted upon the clear understanding that any spectator attending the rally appreciates the risks involved and waivers for himself / herself, his / hers successors, assigns or dependants, any claim or claims he / she might, save for this waiver,have against the promoters, organisers or beneficiaries or the owneror the lessor of this property, in respect of any injury or damage, however arising which he / she may suffer when attending this rally.

- Proceed with Main Road towards Graskop (R532), - �0.8 km -Turn Left into Lydenburg Road towards Bridal Veil Falls/Lone Creek Falls

- �2.7 km - Straight over unused railway crossing,- �2.9 km - Turn Right onto gravel road at S/P York - Sports Grounds,

- !!! Oncoming Rally cars- �3.2 km - Straight through Narrow Gate (enter York - Sports Grounds)

- �3.4 km - Fork Left & find a parking spot to the Left on the soccer field

- Please Do Not Obstruct the flow of the Rally cars and service crews.

- Walk around the outside perimeter of the bunted off service area & watch the servicing / repair activities of the rally teams.

- The MTO-Rutland Remote Service Park is next to the Bedrock Rutland Mill on the R40between White River and Hazyview and is �8.4km from White River (�6km from the big round-about at Casterbridge).

FRIDAY, 22nd April 2016 - Day ONESTART OF RALLY - Sabie Market Square1st Car Due: 10h00, Rally cars will leave at 1 minute intervals - See map SABIE Town

- From Nelspruit, proceed to the R40 (White River / Barberton road) and travel towards White River, just before White River turn left at robot towards Sabie (R537).

- On arrival in Sabie at the Market Square area, park your vehicle to ensure a quick exit towards Graskop.

- View the rally cars in the Pre-Start Holding Area (from 09h00 in the Town Hall parking area) & watch the flag-off ceremony @ 10H00 for the first 5 to 10 cars in the Sabie Market Square parking area.

- The rally cars will drive from the start down Main Road out of Sabie towards Graskop, turn left to Klein Sabie & then through Simile where they will pass next to three Schools, before returning to Sabie & then drive out towards Lone Creek Falls for the Start of first Stage opposite the York Sabie Sawmill.

Stage & Roads Description

- A major "spectator" stage close to Sabie with many good spectating points. Fast roads with loose red dusty surfaces, very slippery if wet. Starting next to the York Sawmill in Lydenburg Road, running through an old log storage yard, before crossing the D220 tar road into the Olifansgeraamte Forest for a fairly flat section traversing back/forth in

the trees, then uphill the around the mountain top, followed by twisty & turning roads along the mountain contours below Longtom pass, fininshing close to Lone Creek Road/Horse Shoe Falls turn-off.

- 1. From this hillside, rally cars will become visible between the trees at intervals in the valley below while traversing up & down the forest - you will be able to see them for a number of short bursts as the cars enter/exit the trees.

- 2. The cars will finally emerge on the east straight ahead from the trees and make two right turns just below the big rock before disappearing northwards along the hillside below Long Tom Pass.

- !!! - NOTE 1: Please do not obstruct normal traffic flow on Long Tom Pass. Please park safely on side verges of the road & away from the tar’s edge over this spectating section.

- !!! - NOTE 2: Please do not enter the bunted off areas with your vehicle.

- !!! - CAUTION: - No Spectator vehicles will be allowed to enter this point, as all the roads on the hillside will be used by the Rally Cars, park your vehicle in a safe place next to the tar road (not on the blind corner) & walk back to the entry point. This stage is inside a closed-off valley of the Grootfontein / In-de-Diepte forests. It has many contours (yumps) & runs firstly downhill into the valley, passing over a river, then westwards next to the river

before turning southwards & uphill around the Grootfontein Workshops along the mountain contours, down into valley again before running up & down the mountain again, finishing down in the valley deep

inside the forest (5,3km from the R532 between Graskop & Sabie)

- After Stage 4 you can return to SABIE for the excellent night spectator stage at the Sabie market square at 18h00 (SS 6).

- SPECTATING NOT ALLOWED on this STAGE- This stage is situated deep inside the forests an inaccessible valley between three

mountains, far from tar roads & accessible only by narrow gravel mountain pass roads.- Access is thus limited to Rally Cars only, due to 2-directional rally & forest traffic on the entry

& exit roads, which are very dangerous due to being rough, narrow and very twisty with many tight blind corners.

- There are many good viewing points along the route, with the Start / Finish at the WIMPY area being in great demand.

They will then enter the premises of the Rob Ferreira High School, running towards the main school entrance building for another hairpin & then towards the school hall, before running back towards this school’s entrance gate & into the Flying Finish in Danie Joubert Street

- High Speed Rally cars are very dangerous, stay off the tar road & stay on the pavement

A typical hard surface forest stage, starting from the R40, then running between the R40 and White River northwards towards the Klipkopje road, a very short distance on the D1560 Klipkopje road, before again running southwards next to the White River & then eastwards towards the D911, to

finish on it close to the Klipkopje road.

A typical forest stage starting deep into the forest �5km south of Hendriksdal running northwards towards Hendriksdal close to the R37, before turning eastwards into the deep forest and returning later

to finish just east of Hendriksdal on a gravel road. The landscape is fairly flat & runs alongst the natural contours of the valleys.

It comes close or right next o the R37 tar road in many places for Excellent Spectating - see map below.

A typical forest stage, starting close to the R537 at the Hendriksdal/Witwater crossroads, the first section with many Contours (Yumps) is winding/twisting along the natural mountain contour, the middle

section mostly fast down-hill with some contours, then northwards with a twisty & turning down-hill mountain pass with many contours, before ending down in the valley south of Sabie �1.5km from the

R532 (next to forest worker's village).

Description

A specially build SPECTATOR stage to finish the rally off is held close to Sabie Town, starting on a gravel forest road next to the R532 from Sabie towards Lydenburg/Nelspruit.

It futures a crossover bridge & its zig-zags down the hillside for EXCELLENT / HIGHLY RECOMMENDED spectating in the valley below the Escom powerlines.

LINES, STAY NEXT TO THE TREES AND NOT DIRECTLY IN LINE OF APPROACHING RALLY CARS, RATHER SIT ON THE HILLSIDE BELOW THE SASOL / YORK V.I.P. TENTS.

FINISH OF THE RALLY- After completing Stage 14 the rally cars will move into a Parc Ferme next to the

Sasol/York VIP tents, until the results are final.- A podium Champagne Spraying Ceremony / Prize Giving for the main class winners on

the podium stage next to the Stop Control of SS 14, will take place soon thereafter, i.e. once all cars have completed this stage (if there is no major protest actions from the competitors).

- The winning cars in each class will later be moved to a Scrutineering Area for final specification verification.

- Please stay until the Champagne Spray Ceremony & Prize Giving have been completed.
