• Recording Behavior Management
• Writing Spelling Words
• Reading log for books
• Please check the Agenda daily.

In first grade, we practice manuscript handwriting.
Homework
• Homework packets will be sent home each Monday; Tuesday, if there is no school on Monday. – *Homework will begin the week of August 31st.
• The packets will consist of math, Super Speller activities, and phonics if needed (subject to change)
• Daily Reading – Encourage your child to read daily. Feel free to read newspapers, instructions, books, magazines, brochures, menus, maps, etc. These help your child develop a love of reading.
• Practice with Numbers – count to 100 (by 2, 5, 10, etc.,) use flashcards for addition and subtraction.
Progress Reports and Report Cards
• Progress Reports are generated in the middle of each quarter at the 4 ½ week mark. Progress Reports are normally sent home the following week. Mini-conferences are encouraged during this time.
• Report Cards are generated at the end of each quarter or 9 week marking period. CCSD Parent – Teacher Conference will be held the week of October 19th. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.

• Birthdays– Birthdays will not be celebrated during instructional time.– Please feel free to join your child for lunch and distribute cookies
or cupcakes.– Invitations may be passed out at school only if ALL children from
our class are invited.– Teachers are not permitted to give out addresses or phone #’s.
• Donations – Flat toothpicks for our centers, jolly ranchers, starbursts, Bubble Gum!
