THE COLLECT God our creator, who in the beginning commanded the light to shine out of dark-ness: we pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ may dispel the darkness of ignorance and unbelief, shine into the hearts of all your people, and reveal the knowledge of your glory in the face of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Thank you Thank you to all who helped with and contribut-ed to David and Val's farewell “do” yesterday. I’m sure it was a fantastic event! Redditch Street Pastors There is a meeting to consider setting up a Street Pastors' team in Redditch town centre on Tuesday 31st January at 6.30pm at St. Stephen's for anyone who might be interested in joining either the street team or the prayer team. Com-mitment would be no more than once a month- less if we can get more volunteers- from 10pm-4.00am. If interested please contact Sarah Leeson at Emmanuel church [email protected] Parish outing The Parish outing this year is to Gloucester on 20th May 2017. The trip includes return coach fare, a guided tour of Gloucester Crypt, carvery lunch, en-trance into Gloucester waterways museum and a canal boat trip. Total cost £40.50p per person. To book a seat please fill in a booking form along with £10 (non refundable) deposit, as soon as possible. Forms can be found at back of church or contact Eric or Margaret Lee on 0121 445 5226. Thank you. Messy Church Unfortunately Messy Church for January has been cancelled. There is to be a meeting for those interested in becoming part of a team to discuss the way forward in the planning for this worth while Ministry. Please think and pray about whether you would like to be part of the team – as you know – more people means we can share the organising etc. I will confirm a meeting date but it would be a help if you could let me know if this ministry is something that interests you. Give me a ring 01527 850046 email [email protected] or speak to me at church. Thank you in advance to all those who come on board!!!!! SUE.

Studley There will be a churchyard working party on Saturday 4th Feb from 9.30am to midday, weather permitting. Website Please send me details of any meetings/events that need to go onto the website diary. To [email protected] Thanks, Judith New members needed for MLT There is currently 1 vacancies on our MLT for Mappleborough, so we are looking for a new member to join the team. If there is someone in the church who you think would be suitable to be considered for mem-bership of MLT, please pass the person’s name to Rev Judy Stote, who is the senior clergy per-son in David’s absence. You should not discuss your nomination with the person involved at this stage. Judy will approach the nominee and ask if they are prepared to be considered for membership. She will then contact the person making the nomination to tell them to go ahead (or not). Nomination forms will be available on request from the Church Wardens. You can contact Judy by telephone (01527 852515) or by email ([email protected]) Nominations would need to be in by end of Feb Safeguarding Training Update We understand that the Safeguarding Course at the Parish Centre on 6 April 2017 is fully booked. HEADLINE Seeking a new incumbent The process to find a new incumbent for our parishes gets under way on Thursday 16th February, when there will be an open meeting in Mappleborough Green Church. Steve Burch, Area Dean for Coventry South Deanery, and Yvette McDonald, P.A. to the Archdeacons, will come along to explain the process that our churches need to undertake. The Diocese has revised the process so that it gives everyone an opportunity to have input from the outset. All church members are invit-ed to attend the meeting and ask any questions that you might have. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please send your questions to one of the churchwardens so that they can be put to Steve on your behalf at the meeting. Refreshments will be served from 6.45 pm and the meeting will commence at 7.30 pm.
