In March we honor liturgical ministers

A good liturgy doesn’t just happen. It requires the planning and participation of many liturgical ministers, from sacristans to the environment and linen teams, ushers to music ministers, altar servers to lectors and communion ministers. They assist the presiding priest and the assembly in celebrating the sacred mysteries. Have you thought about becoming a lector or usher, a music minister or an altar server, etc.?

Join us at our next Centennial meeting on Thursday, March 17 at 6:30 pm!

I AM” Kindness and mercy are what the enslaved people of Israel needed, and they came in the form of deliver-ance. They came through a leader, Moses, who was once plucked from the Nile River and was now herding his father-in-law’s sheep in the land of Goshen. The bush that burned but was not consumed shows us that God is inexhaustible mystery. Mo“ses’ awe and deference are mixed with a touching conversa-tional tone as he seeks to learn God’s name. And God sweetly responds. The somewhat abstract “I AM” dis-tinguishes the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob from the minor gods in the territory who “are not.” They are helpless, powerless, and useless. “YO SOY” Lo que el pueblo esclavizado de Israel necesitaba era la bondad y mi-sericordia de Dios, y esas dos cosas llegaron bajo la forma de una libera-ción. Llegaron por medio de un cau-dillo, Moisés, que cuando niño fue salvado de las aguas del Nilo, y aho-ra estaba pastoreando las ovejas de su suegro en el desierto. La zarza que ardía sin consumirse nos muestra que Dios es un misterio inagotable. El temor y respeto de Moisés están mezclados con una confianza conmovedora, cuando trata de averi-guar el Nombre del Señor. Y Dios le responde dulcemente con un Nombre –YO SOY– que distingue al Dios de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob de los diose-citos de las naciones, que “no-son”. Esos diosecitos de nada son impoten-tes e inútiles. Moisés tiene que avan-zar hacia un futuro increíble, y Dios lo espera allí con mano poderosa y brazo extendido. Thông báo - Các lớp Giáo lý & Việt ngữ sẽ trở lại vào Chúa nhật tuần sau, 6 tháng 3. Các em nghỉ học hôm nay vì các thầy cô đi tham dự đại hội giáo lý tại Los Angeles. - Xứ đạo St. Martin sẽ thực hiện một tập hình ảnh các gia đình và thành phần của xứ đạo (photo directory). Đây là một phần của chương trình Bách Niên mừng xứ đạo tròn 100 tuổi. Xin ghi danh ở cuối nhà thờ sau lễ Chúa nhật. Mỗi gia đình tham gia chụp hình sẽ được một tấm 8x10 miễn phí. - Giải tội mùa Chay: Mỗi tối thứ Tư, từ 6pm đến 8pm. Mỗi chiều Chúa nhật từ 4:15pm đến 4:50pm. - Đàng Thánh Giá: Mỗi thứ Sáu sau lễ 7:30p. Có bữa ăn đơn sơ tại hội trường (5-7pm) và cơ hội giúp người nghèo.

Thực hành lòng thương xót hằng ngày Theo Radio Vaticana, vào ngày 22 tháng 2 vừa qua, Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô đã khuyên các thành viên của Giáo Triều chăm sóc cho đàn chiên của họ với lòng quảng đại và xót thương, và khuyến khích họ hãy làm gương cho tất cả mọi người. Đức Thánh Cha đã nói như vậy trong bài giảng của Thánh Lễ Thứ Hai tại Đền Thánh Phêrô trong khi cử hành lễ Ngai Tòa Thánh Phêrô và Năm Thánh Lòng Thương Xót cho Giáo Triều Rôma, và tất cả mọi cơ cấu liên quan tới Tòa Thánh. Trước khi tham dự Thánh Lễ, tất cả mọi người hiện diện đã quy tụ tại Sảnh Đường Phaolô VI để suy niệm về chủ đề “Lòng Thương Xót trong đời sống hàng ngày,” và cùng với Đức Thánh Cha đi rước qua cửa thánh để vào trong thánh đường. Đức Thánh Cha nói: “Các chủ chăn trước hết phải có Thiên Chúa là gương mẫu cho việc chăm sóc đàn chiên của mình.” Ngài nhắc rằng khi Chúa đi tìm con chịên lạc, đã đưa nó về với bầy chiên, chăm sóc cho các chiên bị thương và chữa lành cho những con chiên bệnh tật. Ngài nói: “Hành vi này là dấu chỉ của tình yêu không bờ bến. Tình yêu này chung thủy, đều đặn, và dâng hiến vô điều kiện, để ngay cả những ai yếu đuối nhất cũng có thể tiếp nhận được lòng thương xót của Chúa. Và Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô cũng khuyên những người hiện diện trau dồi và thực hành một thái độ mục vụ vững mạnh bên trong mọi môi trường mục vụ của Tòa Thánh, “nhất là đối với những ai chúng ta gặp gỡ hàng ngày.” Ngài nói: “Chớ gì sẽ không có một ai phải cảm thấy bị bỏ rơi hay bị đối xử tệ bạc. Cầu cho tất cả mọi người đều cảm nhận được sự chăm sóc yêu thương của vị Chủ Chiên Nhân Lành.”

Theo truyền thống, Giáo hội Công giáo dành riêng tháng Ba để tôn kính Đức Thánh Giuse, Phu quân của Đức Trinh nữ Maria và Dưỡng phụ của Chúa Giêsu. Đặc biệt là những người cha nên phát triển lòng sùng kính Đức Thánh Giuse, vì chính Đức Thánh Giuse đã được Thiên Chúa chọn để chăm sóc Chúa Con. Các kinh nguyện nên kết hợp với lời cầu xin cùng Đức Thánh Giuse, đặc biệt trong tháng Ba này.
