Free…. Smoke Detectors for those living in Kankakee Starting January 5, 2016 the Kankakee Firefighters and members of the Red Cross will soon be visiting residents of Kankakee to offer them an opportunity to replace old battery operated smoke alarms with new Kidde i9010 smoke alarms including a 10 year sealed lithium battery. In order to receive smoke alarms, call the Kankakee Fire Department at (815) 936-3629 between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The receptionist will schedule the appointment for Sunday or Monday between 9:00 a.m. and 7: 00 p.m. You should also be aware that in order to receive the free smoke alarms you will be required to have them installed by the Kankakee Firefighters or members of the Red Cross at the time that they are delivered. The process of installing the smoke alarm should only take about 30 minutes. If you need additional assistance or have a question please contact us at (815) 933-0450. (Arrangements pending at time of bulletin printing) Sunday, December 6 Nursery & Early Childhood will be giving their special Christmas presentation. Next Sunday, Dec. 6. All two and three year olds will meet on the platform in the sanctuary at 8:50am to rehearse. Please have your Preschool and/or Kindergarten child in their Sunday School Class no later than 9am. Wanna Be Wednesday On Dec 2, Wanna Be will be making a craft to take to 70 residents of ManorCare Health Center, on Dec 9. These crafts will be handed out while the children carol to the residents. Wednesday, December 9 Children 1st-6th grade will be caroling at ManorCare Nursing Home. We will need parent drivers. Please call Pastor Debbie by December 7 if you are able to help. Giving to Others The “Giving Tree” is up in the children’s Commons area. Tags are on the tree with items that are needed at Manor Care for the resident’s Christmas. Please help your child learn more about giving to others by taking a tag, purchasing the item listed on the tag, and returning the item no later than Dec 20 th . RECHARGE 2016—Winter Retreat For those attending RECHARGE, the $25 deposit is due Sunday, December 13. If you are going to Forge Flint , the $80 deposit is due by Christmas.
