Welcome to Neverland - A place to connect.

Thank you for showing interest in our school, we look forward to extending your mind and body with dance. This E-Pack contains all the exciting information that you will need to complete an enrolment with us and to start your dancing career.

My name is Alley Williams and I am the Studio Manager of Neverland. We believe in creating versatile dancers and offer 130 classes available each week in the following genres:

- Hip Hop- RAD Ballet- AJDA Jazz- AJDA Tap- Contemporary

At Neverland we also offer a range of programmes to suit your personal needs.

• Neverland Women – Adult classes including Yoga, Bootcamp, Zumba and Dance.• Neverland Extend – Students are selected to take part in Jazz/Contemporary, ballet

and hip hop troupes. • Neverland Pixies – Our preschool education programme, training future dancers.• Neverland Career - Internship programme training future teachers and studio

directors.• The Changing Room – Parent and teen mentoring programme.

Our 4 studios are colourful, warm and welcoming and purpose built to cater for all genres of dance. Studio 2 has recently been upgraded with a full lighting rig so that our teachers can create the ultimate dancing environment.

Our dance classes are structured to cater for all ages and abilities from 18 months to Adult. Our philosophy is to provide an environment where children and adults alike not only develop their dance ability but their confidence, social skills, passion for dance, and a positive attitude. We offer both syllabus and open classes that are accessible to all people.

Please make sure you list the classes you would like to be enrolled in clearly with day, time and class level. If you have any queries please call us on (09) 4799 321.At Neverland we like to give our existing students first priority when enrolling for Term 1. We will start to approve enrolments from new students from Friday 14th December. Please note: Your place in a class is only secure once you have paid full term fees.We expect all students to be in uniform by their 3rd week of classes. We have a dance wear shop on site for all your dance wear needs.

COMMUNICATION AND NEWS

Throughout the year, you will receive term newsletters updating you on upcoming events, staff news, class news and the running of Neverland. These newsletters will be emailed out so please make sure that we have your correct email address. A notice board in the dance school foyer is updated regularly to also keep you up to date with news and events. We also have a TV which shows important information as well as short snippets from the various studios. Our website is also a great place to help keep up to date with Neverland news. You will find copies of our current timetable, enrolment forms, uniform information and event information at our website - www.neverlandstudios.co.nz










THE YEAR AHEAD

For syllabus classes, the first six months of the year is spent working towards exams. Students have the opportunity to sit exams for most of the classes offered. When you enrol, you will be advised as to whether your classes are exam classes or open/free work classes. Teachers will advise students regarding their suitability to sit an exam, and the final decision is that of the teacher. You need to consider your commitments carefully if you want to aim for an exam, too many missed classes may affect your chance of being selected/entered.

Our School Holiday Programme is always a favourite event with our students. The programme runs for a week and gives students the wonderful opportunity to trial new dances classes and to polish up in preparation for exams. It is an expectation that if you are selected for an exam you will be attending the Holiday Course as exam preparation.

Phoenix dance workshop is another highlight of our year and is a great chance for our dancers to be taught by some of the best dancers, teachers and choreographers in the world. As this weekend workshop is in Hamilton it is a great way for our students to bond, learn outside of their normal studio space and create experiences that will always be remembered.

For the second six months of the year the focus turns towards the end of year production which is held at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna. This is a fantastic professional show which is the highlight of the year.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS 2013Fees policy- Fees are payable strictly in advance prior to the term commencing to secure a place in a class,- If you have not paid your fees or attended class by week 3 of the term your enrollment will be deleted,- All statutory holidays are observed and fees have been calculated over the year,- There are no makeup classes or refunds given where classes clash with public holidays or exams,- No refunds are given for missed classes,- There will be no refund of term fees if a student leaves a class after the first 3 weeks of term,- If you decide to pull out of a class before the third week of term you will only be charged for the weeks that you were enrolled,- Changing classes at any time will not incur any charges unless there is a discrepancy in the term fee.- Your enrollment will not be processed if you have an outstanding balance on your account from a previous year or term.Classes and waiting lists- All classes have a maximum number of students. If this number is reached a waiting list will begin for new enrollments into the class. If you are added to a waiting list you will be contacted when a space becomes available for you. There will be no fees charged for being on a waiting list.Photos and digital displays- A screen in the foyer will be displaying the classes in studio 2 and 3. Please be aware that these images are not being recorded and will not be used for any other purpose. Signing this form means you understand and are happy for you or your childs image to be projected in the foyer.- Neverland employs a professional photographer/videographer to take photos/videos throughout the year. Photos/videos throughout the year may be added to the Neverland Facebook or Instagram page, please make the office aware if you or your child wishes to not be in photos/videos. Some of these photos/videos will be offered to you for purchase. Exam policy- No student is guaranteed a place in an exam, - A nomination for an exam is based on the assumption that the student will fully commit to exam

preparation,- If classes are missed this could jeopardize your place in an exam,- Students can be pulled out of an exam at any time at their teachers discretion, this is a last resort and

parents will be alerted to this possibility before a decision is made.- Certain syllabus classes require a minimum amount of classes that must be attended (Grade 1 Ballet and

above, Elementary 2 Jazz and above)- Late exam entries will incur a penalty fee,- Every student should have their correct exam uniform appropriate to their level from the beginning of the

year.Show policy- Taking part in the end of year show is not compulsory although is highly recommended as it is the

highlight of the year,- A show costume fee will be included in your term 4 fees. This fee is incurred per dance that the student

participates in but is capped at a certain level. This fee is a contribution towards sewing, purchasing, laundering, storage and handling of costumes.

- Attendance at show rehearsals is compulsory.- During the show period, studio rehearsals and theatre week, there are no normal timetabled classes; please

refer to your cast list.- If you are not involved in the show there will be no refund or make up lessons for the two show focused

weeks.Uniform policy Crews and Troupes- Uniform is compulsory for all classes and must be worn by the third class students attend. If uniform is not

worn after this time, students can be denied entry into the class.- Continually attending class not in uniform could jeopardise your place in your class,- Correct uniform must be worn for each genre - i.e. students are not allowed to wear jazz uniform in a hip

hop class.Crews and Troupes- Crews and Troupes are by audition or invite only.- Crew and Troupe term fees are not included in the unlimited payment scheme.- Crews and Troupes are often required for extra weekend/holiday rehearsals.- For more information see the Neverland Extend information.
