It’s a archaeological site where it is carring out excavations. It’s declared a Cultural Good of National Interesting. At the moment there is a research project on 8th century in order to rebuilt the economical, social and natural environment during the Middle Ages. The aim is to get the total knowledge about islamic past in Balaguer.

Festa de la Transegre.

Transegre party.

The Transegre Party is the most popular, funny and sportive competition in Summer on the river Segre. It’s the most crowded local event in Balaguer. Sailors make the handmade boats using all kinds of materials, except metal. This popular event is 25 years old and at the moment 300 hundred boats sail downstream and a few of them get the finishing line. The main character of the meeting is the river Segre.
