Now that the Christmas season is over, I know this islate, but Id like to thank our parish ministers, staff,volunteers, and everyone who donated their me andtalent to make our celebraons both vibrant andbeauful for all who parcipated. Also, thank you to allwho gave generously to the parish in the Christmas

envelopes, as well as to those who donated to the An-gel Trees and Social Concerns. With your help, manylile ones enjoyed the wonder of a toy under theChristmas tree and much needed food for their fami-lies.

Ordinary me has begun and our liturgical rhythmreturns to a thoughul pace. This weekend, we will beturning our aenon to Catholic Schools Week. Thisyears theme is Catholic Schools Raise the Stand-ards. I know and appreciate that our Principal, Wan-da King, her staff and teachers, along with loving par-ents, work very hard to give the great gi of a Catholiceducaon to their students. I encourage our parentsto take advantage of all the educaonal opportuniesoffered in our caring, Catholic community. Whetheryour choice is a full-me Catholic educaon at our par-ish school or one of the wonderful religious educaonclasses offered Tuesday evenings and Sunday morn-ings, your commitment to sharing your faith is a greatblessing to our children and our parish community.

Another special day involving children in our parishwill be Boy Scout Sunday on February 3rd. Im proud tohave Scoung programs here at the parish and theschool. Unfortunately, I will miss Boy Scout Sunday as Iwill be on vacaon, but my thoughts and prayers willbe with the Scouts on that day. I will be taking a lileme off to go to a Trappist Abbey in South Caroli-na. My main hope for that me away is to enjoy thefact that its very quiet. There are no cell phones, notelevision sets, and no emailnot much to do but wan-der around and enjoy the gardens. Folks have askedme if Ill find the quiet difficult to handle: not at all! Im

looking forward to the chance to slow down, rest,pray, read, reflect, pray and most importantly, re-charge my spirit. Ill be praying for all of you in thisbeauful place and will be grateful for your prayers.

Ahora que la temporada de Navidad ha terminado, yose que es tarde, pero deseo agradecerle a nuestros mi-nistros, voluntarios, personal parroquial y a todos losque donaron de su empo y talento para hacer quenuestras celebraciones fueran hermosas y vibrantes de-bido a la parcipacin de todos ustedes. Tambin, gra-cias a todos los que generosamente dieron a la parro-

quia por medio de sus sobres Navideos, as como tam-bin a aquellos que donaron al rbol de ngeles y aAsuntos Sociales. Con tu ayuda, muchos pequeitos dis-frutaron la maravilla de tener un regalo debajo del rbolde Navidad y de comida para aquellas familias menosafortunadas.

El Tiempo Ordinario ha iniciado y nuestro ritmo litrgicoregresa a su lugar. Este fin de semana, estaremos enfo-cando nuestra atencin a la Semana Escuelas de las Ca-tlica. El tema de este ao es Escuelas Catlicas Elevanel Nivel. Yo s y aprecio que nuestra Directora, WandaKing, su personal y maestros junto con padres amoro-

sos, trabajan muy duro para dar el gran don de la Educa-cin Catlica a nuestros estudiantes. Yo animo a los pa-dres que aprovechen todas las oportunidades educacio-nales ofrecidas en nuestra Comunidad Catlica. Ya seala educacin Catlica de empo completo en nuestraescuela parroquial o en una de nuestras maravillosasclases de educacin religiosa ofrecidas los martes por lanoche y los domingo en la maana, tu compromiso decomparr tu fe es una gran bendicin para nuestrosnios y nuestra familia parroquial.

Otro da especial para que nuestros nios se envuelvanen la parroquia es el Domingo de Boy Scouts el 3 defebrero. Yo estoy orgulloso de tener los programas deBoy Scouts aqu en la parroquia y en la escuela. Des-afortunadamente, yo no estar el Domingo de BoyScouts ya que estar de vacaciones, pero mis pensa-mientos y mis oraciones estarn con ellos este da. Yotomare un empo para ir a Trappist Abbey en Caroli-na del Sur. Mi principal esperanza del empo que yoeste fuera es el disfrutar el hecho de que es muy tran-quilo. No hay celulares, no hay televisores y no hay co-rreo electrnico no hay mucho que hacer ms quecaminar alrededor y disfrutar de los jardines. Me hanpreguntado si encontrare dicil la tranquilidad: para

nada! Yo estoy esperando la oportunidad de ir ms des-pacio, de descansar, de orar, de leer, de reflexionar yms importante, recargar mi espritu. Yo estar orandopor todos ustedes en este hermoso lugar y estar agra-decido por sus oraciones.
