History4th generation family owned
1871 Founded by Carl Heinrich Hellmann in Germany, delivering goods by horse-drawn cart
1925 One of the first companies to replace their horse- drawn fleet with coal powered trucks
1935 Large scale consolidated freight terminal begins operations
1949 Branch opens in Hamburg
1960 Facility for consolidated cargo completed in Osnabrueck with the first European under floor chain conveyor sourced in Chicago by Joachim and Heinz Hellmann
