WELCOME TO FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
We welcome each of you to this time of worship. We welcome our guests, including seasonal residents, and ask you to take a moment to sign the red Attendance Registration Pads located in each pew. If you want to know more about First Church, you are welcome to pick up information from the Welcome Center in the narthex (lobby) as you leave today. Please also make certain that you pick up a gift for all first time guests from the Welcome Center. Our Director of Outreach and her team are also available in the narthex after each service to greet you and answer your questions. Come again and often to this very special time of renewal and growth where you can “Find Yourself at First!”
Assistive Listening Available HereIf you have trouble hearing during our worship service, ask an usher for a SoundMate, Personal Listening System. These portable listening devices are available in the narthex.
Children are Welcome in our Worship Services. A nursery is provided for babies and toddlers during our services. We offer Wee Worship (age 3 through first grade) at the 8:30 and the 11:00 services. A volunteer will greet these children in the narthex. Parents, please pick up your Wee Worship children in the 2-3 grade Sunday School room downstairs.
Please consider making First Church your church family. We hope that you will become a part of our friendly and caring congregation! New members are asked to support the church by prayers, attendance, financial giving, witness, and use of time.

YOUTHE. P. I. C. (Everything’s Possible in Christ) is the middle and high school youth ministry at First Church.
Youth summer Bible studies will start Tuesday, June 30th, from 6-7 p.m. We will have a boys’ group and a girls’ group. We will meet in the Administration Building. Meetings are every other Tuesday this summer.
Mark your calendars for Youth Fun Day on Tuesday, July 7th, in Myrtle Beach.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILDThroughout the year, the UMW will be collecting items to be placed in shoeboxes that will be sent to children around the world at Christmas time. This month’s list includes: combs, small hairbrushes, and hair accessories. Please place your items in the collection box either in the narthex or Lupo Fellowship Hall. A complete list of items needed is available there too.
LOAVES & FISHESWelcome Visitors - First United Methodist Church's summer mission program, Loaves and Fishes, collects and donates food for needy families in the East Cooper community. When your vacation is over, please stop by the church parking lot to donate any leftover, unopened or individually packaged food and grocery items. Donations are accepted on Saturday mornings between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. during June, July and August. May God bless you for your generosity. Travel safely and please come again.
RECEPTION FOR JAN PICKENSToday is Jan Pickens’ last Sunday before she retires, as our choir director. The choir has planned special music to honor her. A reception will be held for her following the 11:00 service. If you would like to write her a note we will have baskets at all of the services as well as the reception.We wish Jan well in her retirement.
1ST CHURCH BEACH DAYS Please mark your calendars for Thursdays, beginning July 2nd. We will meet each week at the beach, 21st Ave. access, and enjoy some fun, sun, and fellowship from 1 - 3.Join us when you can and bring your friends. All are welcome to attend, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
EMANUEL AME OFFERINGTogether we mourn the senseless, violent deaths of the nine persons gathered for Christian fellowship and study at Emanuel AME Church.
Offerings may be made out to our 1st United Methodist Church, IOP. We will then send one church check directed to the South Carolina Annual Conference on behalf of Emanuel AME Church.
Bishop L. Jonathan Holston asked that we please be generous with our prayers as well as our offerings as we support our Pan-Methodist family at this time.
