Promotion Sunday August 23 Hispanic Ministries’ Celebration Prime Time Luncheon Tuesday, August 11, 11:30 a.m. Join Prime Time this month as we celebrate the diversity of Kankakee First Church with special guests from our Hispanic Ministries. Our main course will be some delicious ,but not spicy, Hispanic specialties, supplemented by our Prime Time members. After lunch, the program will feature a look at the Hispanic ministries and how God is working in this fertile field in our area. See how the love of God transcends languages and cultural differences to make us one family. The meeting will include discussion about the upcoming year including event dates, focus, and small group information as well as the distribution of the fall student ministry calendar. Plan to be in attendance! Class Clash. With the reigning champions off to college, the trophy and associated bragging rights are up for grabs in this year’s Class Clash! This year’s event will take place Sunday, September 6th at the church from 6:00-8:00p. This is a senior high-only event. Class colors are red for freshmen, blue for sophomores, green for juniors, and orange for seniors. This is an ideal event for inviting a friend or two! Guys’ Campout. The annual guys’ campout is right around the corner! The cost is again $40 to attend, and the campout will take place September 18th-20th on Jay & Jeanette Martinson’s property. Guys must register by September 9th. The Amazing Race Girls’ Weekend This year’s girls’ weekend will take place September 19th-20th. You won’t want to miss out on a mini- weekend of The Amazing Race- inspired fun! The cost for the weekend is $30. Everything will be local. Register by September 9th. Life Groups Life Groups for the 2015-16 school year will begin on Sunday, September 13th. The “Third City” Talent Nite Wednesday, August 26 6:00-8:00pm This is open to youth, adults, families and children!!! Every family, every person has special gifts and talent. Share these with your church family! Sign up to perform no later than Wednesday, August 19 at the Volunteer Counter, or by e-mail to [email protected] Let’s celebrate God’s special gifts in each of us! NEW WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE Beginning, August 19th, 2015, we are officially changing the time of our Wednesday night ministries to now begin at 6:30 pm. The new schedule will allow our younger children to be able to participate in Mid-week ministry and still get home at an adequate time. Many of our families travel from the surrounding towns and country to come in on Wednesday night and this gives them an additional 30 minutes once they get home. Our senior adults will have more daylight in which to travel back and forth to the church. We encourage you to check out our Wednesday night ministries! Welcome to First Church!
