Worship with us!In FUMC we love God through worship.Our worship services are designed for people of all ages.

• Sunday 8:30 A.M. & 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary- Historic and formal pattern of a service- Written prayers, congregational hymns, choral music accompanied by pipe or-

gan, multiple scripture readings and a sermon.

• Saturday 5:30 P.M. & Sunday 9:45 A.M. in Kobler Hall- Contemporary Christian music led by a praise band. - Relaxed, casually-dressed, interactive and multi-media worship service.

LENTEN NOON WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Micah’s ecumenical network of churches will once again host noonday worship services throughout the Lenten season. Services will be held at noon in a different church each week, with a pastor from another Micah congregation delivering the message. Lunch will follow at each worship site and an offering will be collected to benefit Micah. • March 4th - Christ Lutheran Church• March 11th Fredericksburg United Methodist Church• March 18th – St. George’s Church• March 25th – Fredericksburg Baptist Church• Easter, April 5th – Sunrise service will be hosted by

Presbyterian Church at 7:00 a.m.

“BUILDING BROTHERS” UMM STUDY GROUP

We INVITE all men to join our weekly Thursday night study from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in room 201. We have doubled in size to 8 since our February 8th start. Our study is an introspective look at menin society, men’s culture, and our relationship with God.

Overcoming Giants

Our congregation is on a prayerful journey about understanding who God wants us to become as we follow Jesus. What are the giants we envision in the Promised Land? How will we overcome the Giants? As we continue on our study, prayers and conversations, your support and encouragement is key as we continue on this road.,

OVERCOMING GIANTS

TAKE YOUR BURDENS TO THE CROSS

Write your ‘burden’ on a purple card and tie it to the cross in the courtyard. Cards are in baskets through-out the Church.

On Easter Sunday, please bring fresh-cut flowers to the courtyard. We will cover the cross with flowers as a symbol of resurrection and hope

FUMC CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Rotation Station HelpersWe still need teachers and shepherds for the remaining units this

year. Please contact Shannon Bolick if you are willing to help.

• The Garden of Gethsemane – March 15 – April 19

• Pentecost – April 26 – May 31

Children’s Walk through Holy Week

On Wednesday nights between February 25th and March 25th, children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade canparticipate in our “Walk through Holy Week” program.

Each week, we will look at the different events that happened between Palm Sunday and Easter. Too often, we celebrate one week and go straight to the celebration the following week without understanding Christ’s giant sacrifice.

This series will help children see what happened, why it hap-pened, and what Easter truly means.

JAMESOnce again this year the Wayfarers Sunday School class and the United Methodist Men would like to offer chil-dren from FUMC the opportunity to attend

Camp Westview!

Two scholarships for young people Ages 7-17 will be awarded.

If you are interested, please pick up an application from the Church office and return it to Mona Lamb.

The DEADLINE for applications is Sunday, March 29th.

VBS – Hometown Nazareth

This year we are going back to Nazareth, where Jesus was a little boy! It is time to start planning for VBS 2015. Please prayerfully consider if you are willing to take a leadership role for this coming summer.

UPWARD BASKETBALL

Stop by the church any Monday evening, Thursday evening, or Saturday and you will find it FULL of excited, energetic children and their families experiencing the fun of our Upward basketball program. There are over 170 children participating in this program!!! Upward is not just a basketball program, but a Christian model for sports. Coaches also lead their players in prayer and Bible points while teaching them the skillsof the game and more importantly, the right attitude for sports and other endeavors. There is even a devotional time at halftime for each game! Stop by and see the excitement for yourselves. You don’t want to miss it!

BAZAAR WORKSHOP NEWS

The workshops are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.

Next meeting is March 9th.

We will be making jewelry (all the beads, etc. will be provided).

Needed: Altoid tins and old Jewelry (put in Bazaar Bin in Mission Control).

We welcome all who want to help and enjoy fellowship and creativity
