Bocconi University Founded in 1902, Università Bocconi isunquestionably Italy’s most respectedeconomics and business university. Furthermore, Bocconi is a foundingmember of the Community of EuropeanManagement Schools and InternationalCompanies (CEMS), in conjunction withwhich it offers an exclusive specialized Master in International Management(www.cems.org). Bocconi also belongs to the PIM Network(Partnership in InternationalManagement), an internationalconsortium of business schools that wasfounded in 1973 (www.pimnetwork.org). International Student DeskThe International Student Desk (ISD) is a service offered by the InternationalRelations Office to all incoming exchangestudents and international students who areregularly enrolled in Bocconi DegreePrograms. 2. THE EXCHANGE PROGRAM AT BOCCONIEvery year almost 700 students from more than 160 partner schools in over 40 countries come to BocconiUniversity as exchange students. The lingua franca of the ExchangeProgram is English and a wide range of courses is offered in English every year. Foreign students at Bocconiare supported by the InternationalStudent Desk, which offers assistanceand organizes cultural and socialactivities. The highlight of the programis the wide diversity of students it brings together, both academically and culturally.

Study planStudents may choose choose a min. of 3 and a max. of 6 courses from any of the courses offered at Bocconi. Undergraduate students may only chooseundergraduate courses, whereas graduatestudents both graduate andundergraduate courses. All Exchangestudents must be full-time students andwill not be allowed to register for lessthan three courses.
CoursesA huge variety of courses belonging to different fields of education (Business Management, Economics and Law) are offered at Bocconi.
ExamsExams will take place at the end of eachsemester (Jan/Feb for the Fall term and June/July for the Spring term).Special session before Christmas for the Fall term. ISD: Services and Activities
Bocconi HousingBocconi has private Student Residencesand has agreements with otherresidences in Milan. Housing is limitedand rooms are assigned on a first comefirst served basis.For all the Exchange Students that will notbe granted accommodation at anyBocconi’s Residences an updated“Housing List” will be provided by theInternational Student Desk.
Italian Language Course Bocconi offers an Italian Language crashcourse before classes start. The course isdivided into 4 levels – from beginner toadvanced. The workload is approx. 70hours for 4 weeks. The program of the course also includescountry specific sessions.Only in the first semester there will bethe possibility to attend also a 30 hoursitalian language course to those willingto further deepen their knowledge ofItalian.
OrientationAn orientation Program is organized each term during the Italian LanguageCrash Course period. It is usuallyorganized in four sessions with the mainpurpose to give the students a firstgeneral overview on cultural, political andsocial characters of Italy and its people. A special session on rules and regulationsorganized by the International StudentDesk is mandatory.
Cross-Cultural Session“Getting to know the Italians”: a two hourlesson about the italian lifestyle organizedat the beginning of the semester.
Buddy SystemStudent associations are active to providetutorship for foreigners, also organizingvisits to the University facilities, and social activities.
Academic AdvisingAcademic advisors are available all alongthe terms to give suggestions or helpforeign students in their choice ofcourses.
yoU@B: the student´s personal webplannerEach student has a tailor-made planner,yoU@B, which can be accessed via theweb, letting him/her view and downloadclass schedules, classroom locations,exam calendars, check the results of thetests and pointing to contacts, notes andlinks.

Visa and Permit of StayStudents not having citizenship orresidency in EU countries must apply for a VISA at the Italian consulate at home country. Be sure to ask for a multiple entry Schengen VISA if you are visiting other Europeancountries of the Schengen area.
All students must apply for the permit of stay within 8 days of arrival.
Health insuranceIn Italy, the national healthcare system is provided by a public healthcareservice (ASL). Only foreign citizens with residence permit may apply for the service.
EU students are required to have the European Health Card if alreadyeffective or similar private insurancepolicies with international validity to benefit from a health service cover. To find out more, before leaving Italy,contact your national social securityoffice or its local branches. Be aware that it does not replace normal travelinsurance. It only relates to necessarycare following an accident, for example,or on-going care for a serious medicalcondition. In order to get the VISA /Residencepermit non-EU students must showevidence of a certified health insurancecover (it is recommended to have a copy certified by the ItalianConsulate or Embassy).
