AVID at HomeSome strategies to support your student’s journey:
• Provide supplies and a space to work
• Utilize the assignment notebook. Write important upcoming events and extracurricular activities. Expect your child to write homework daily in the planner and review it nightly
• Make sure to stay on top of the WEEKLY grade checks and learning logs. Only sign them AFTER reviewing Aeries with your child
• Keep the lines of communication open!! Discuss how your child’s day was by asking open ending questions

The Results AVID students are more likely to • take honors classes • complete their college eligibility requirements• get into four-year colleges than students who don’t take AVID
Almost all AVID students who participate for at least three years are accepted into college, with roughly three quarters getting into four-year universities.
AVID also helps ensure students, once accepted to college, possess the higher-level skills they need for college success.
