On behalf of UAE fencing federation and Fencing Confederation of Asia it is an honor to invite you to

participate in “Dubai 2018 Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships which will be held at Hamdan

Sports Complex, UAE from the 23 February to 04 March 2018.

We invite the Asian and Oceania countries to join us for a historic event showcasing our world

5. Participants:

• The member countries of Fencing Confederation of Asia and the Oceania Fencing Confederation can participate in the competition. • For Juniors events fencers must be born between the years 1998 until 2004 • For Cadet Events fencers must be born between the years 2001 until 2004 • Each country can enter four (4) competitors for each individual event and one (1)Team of three (3) competitors and one (1) substitute in each team event.





6. Entry procedures:

* Entries for Junior Individual and Team events must have valid FIE License and registered through the FIE Official website. * Entries for Cadet Individual and Team events must have valid FCA License and registered through the FCA Official website. * All registrations through the FIE or FCA website must be made before the deadline which is seven (7) days before the start of the competition. All entries juniors and cadets must also be submitted to the UAE Fencing Federation. Please fill in Forms 1, 2, and 3. Entry Fee of US$50 for individual event and US$130 for Team event must be paid on arrival. Please fill in the entry

forms and submit via email to: [email protected]

(a) Form 1: Preliminary Entry (by event and number) Wednesday, 15 January 2018 (b) Forms 2 & 3: Final Entry (by event and name) Thursday, 25 January 2018 (c) Form 4: Accommodation and Transportation Thursday, 25 January 2018

7. Accreditations:

• Officials and athletes should provide a passport-sized photo for ID cards and send to

• For each athlete, coach and member of delegation a photo should be sent as “jpg” and the format file name of the photo: <country>_<official/athlete/Coach> _<name>. For example UAE_ Athlete_ AL HAMMADI _Abdullah .jpg

8. FIE Rules:

The Competition shall be conducted in accordance with the current Statutes and Rules of the FIE. In case of

disagreement in the interpretation of the Rules, the latest English version shall prevail. The Director Technique will,

however, reserve the right to decide, without right of appeal, on any issues not covered by the FIE Rules or by these

Rules.

9. Equipments:

All equipments to be used must comply with FIE standards. All equipments must be submitted for weapons testing

and marked by organizer before they may be used in the competition.






10. Competition Management:

• Referee FlE- licensed referees will be designated by the FCA. Referees must present themselves during the

Referees’ meeting on Fri, 23th

Feb. 2018 at 18:00 Referees must be properly attired in dark jacket/blazer and long

pants.

• Director Technique (DT) The DT shall be responsible for the technical organization of the competition. The chief

of DT assigned by FCA.

• Protests

Appeals against decisions of a referee should be made immediately by the competitor so their team captain to the

referee, before any decision is made regarding a subsequent hit. If the referee should maintain his decision, the

complaint shall be brought to the attention of the DT.

11. Prizes:

• Individual events: one (1) gold, one (1) silver, and two (2) bronze medals to the top four (4) fencers and diplomas to

the top eight (8) fencers.

• Team events: four (4) gold medals for the champion team, four (4) silver medals for the second placed team, and

two (2) sets of four (4) bronze medals for the two losing teams in the semi-finals, and diplomas to the members of the

top four teams.

• Juniors ranking. Participants in junior individual events will earn FIE ranking points, in accordance with standard FIE

rules.

12. Entry visa:

In order to obtain a visa participants are requested to send by Email: [email protected]

A copy of their passports and a passport (6 months validity) sized photo addition to a modern portrait by 15th January

2018. Visa fee will be only 50 $ per person.

It is extremely important that all requests are received by the stated date to ensure that the required visas are

obtained on time. Any requests received after this date will not be accepted.

13. Transportation:

A- Free of charge service includes:

Hotel – Venue – Hotel.

* Free transfers can only be used by guests using contracted hotels.

Other transfer services will be available on request and will be charged.





Airport – Hotel – Airport transfers will be carried out according to national delegation information about their flight

schedule.

B- Transportation fees.

- From Abu Dhabi Airport / Hotel / AD Airport Only 80 $ per person.

- From Dubai or Sharjah Airport / hotel/Airport Only 50 $ per person.
