They are being confirmed today by

Most Reverend Wilton D. Gregory

Archbishop of Atlanta

My dear Parishioners,

I invite all of you to join me in welcoming our Archbishop,

Most Reverend Wilton D. Gregory, to St. Paul of the Cross

to lead us in the celebration of the Eucharist this morning and

to confer the sacrament of Confirmation on eight of our

young parishioners whose names appear in the adjoining

column. This is a marvelous occasion, having the Chief

Shepherd of the Archdiocese with us, and an extraordinary

one as well since we do not often have the opportunity as a

parish to have him as principal celebrant of the Sunday

Eucharist in our own church.

Archbishop Gregory’s visit should serve as a reminder that

we belong to a church community much larger than our own

parish, a universal community of disciples of the Lord Jesus,

led today by the successors of the Apostles in union with

Pope Francis, successor of St. Peter as Bishop of Rome. You

may not have known this but, in addition to his responsibili-

ties as the spiritual leader of our local church, our Archbish-

op shares, together with all other bishops, responsibility for

the universal Church. A daunting task! Today, let us all

remember our Archbishop in our prayers that God will con-

tinue to sustain and inspire him in his episcopal ministry.

Our parish in particular has special reasons. to support him in

prayer and every other way. He has been very good to us!

—Fr. Jerome, C.P.

This year the theme of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal (AAA) is “Go, therefore, and make disciples.” While much of the Church’s ministry takes place in our parishes, we also come together as an archdiocesan Church to carry out critical services and ministries that have impact beyond any one parish. Please be generous in your response. For more information, or to donate online, go to appeal.archatl.com or keep getting updates through the coming bulletins.
