Future CoursesMath 110 is a Terminal Course

It is absolutely imperative that you understand that Math 110 is

NOT a prerequisite for any other math class!If you need to take math 112 or some other higher level course, but did not place into

that course, you need to drop math 110, take math 100, then math 112, etc.

Access CodesEvery student must have a MyLabsPlus access code.

•Comes packaged with the textbook or may be purchased separately

•First-time Math 110 students must purchase a code• May use a temporary code until 2/1

•Students repeating Math 110 do NOT need to purchase a new access code. You should be able to log in to the new course and begin work immediately. If you have any trouble, come to the MTLC for assistance.

•The code gives you access to an online textbook, video lectures, examples of assignments and many more useful tools to help you be successful in this course.

Course GradesGrades will be assigned in this course. Possible grades

in this course are A, B, C (+/-) or NC. A grade of NC means you receive no credit for this

course. You must take the course again, but an NC does not affect your GPA.

The last day to withdraw from the course is Wednesday, 3/21. No withdrawals will be given after this date.

Only the computer calculator (Windows 7) may be used during tests!

Some form of ID is required when taking a test.

Replacement Policy

Everyone will be allowed to replace his or her lowest test grade with the grade made on the final exam.

Zero grades due to unexcused absences or academic misconduct will not be replaced without a petition.

If a test is missed due to a serious, verifiable circumstance, students may petition to have the zero test grade replaced with the final exam grade.

Homework

There will be graded homework assignments for each section (see syllabus for deadlines). The software automatically saves your work as you progress, but be sure to click on the “Save” button when exiting the assignment.

Homework exercises may be worked and reworked as much as needed until the deadline. Click on “Similar Exercise” to rework an exercise.

The 3 lowest homework grades will automatically be dropped and the average of the remaining homework grades will count for 66 points.

Quizzes

There will be a graded quiz for every section. (See syllabus for deadlines.)

You will have 2 attempts on each quiz. The higher grade will be taken. Click the “Submit” button to record your score. Do not click the Submit button until you have completed the entire quiz.

You can review your quiz only immediately after submitting.

The lowest 3 quiz grades will automatically be dropped and the average of the remaining quiz grades will count for 132 points.

Make-up PolicyMissed homework or quiz deadline

Makeup work may be allowed.Must petition.

Missed testMust petition as soon as possible. No makeup tests. If the petition request panel approves

the excuse, your final exam score will replace the missed test score.

Making 75% or better on EACH assignment due on a particular deadline day (this includes tests) Note: A missed assignment = 0, which is <75%!

OR Spending at least 1 hour between that deadline and the
