Welcome!
……………….to the tenth Proms and Picnic in the Park.
The Barrow Hills Community Committee organises and runs a series of events
throughout the year for children and adults with the aim of fundraising for charity
and the School as well as creating memorable experiences that will be cherished by
all for years to come. All of our activities are geared towards developing the pupil
profile attributes and developing a stronger school community.
We support the School’s charitable endeavours by hosting events such as a
Macmillan Coffee Morning and Harvest Festival. A number of charities have
benefitted this year including Bloomsbury Baptist Church, Change 1’s Life, CAFOD
and the Poppy Appeal.
The Committee also supports the School to fund new facilities that may fall outside
the existing future development plans of the School itself. These additional funds can
help with the purchase of practical and exciting facilities sooner rather than later.
This year the School asked that this money be put towards the refurbishment of the
Library. The plans are available to view in Reception. We hope that this room will be
enjoyed by our current and future children for many years to come.
We hope you all enjoy the next three hours of music, dance and performances by
both children and parents. Please sit back, enjoy the BBQ (and perhaps a glass of
Pimms or a pint of beer) and be entertained by our amazing Barrow Hills children,
highlighting all that is artistically brilliant about them and their school. Please feel
free to sing along!
Raffle tickets are on sale at £1 each for an amazing selection of prizes or perhaps
you would like to bid on one of the silent auction pledges.
We have to give a special thanks to all the parents who have helped on the BBQ, bar
and other stalls. Also for the support from our musical accompaniments and sound
engineer. Also of course to all our performers!
Thank you to Weltons Brewery for the real ale and The Meat and Fish Market, Milford
for the beautiful lamb.
There is one person not here today, Mr Wardell. We know how much he loves this
event and we continue to wish him well.
We hope that you enjoy the performances and if you wish to show your appreciation,
please do make a donation in any of the buckets dotted around.
Thank you for your support, now sit back and enjoy.

Look at my life
See how I’m growing
Gazing ahead
To all I may become.
The culmination
Of all that went before.
Ad Majora Paramur.
Refrain
(Softly)
Look in my eyes
What do you see there?
Kindness and love
Or hatred fear and lies?
Choosing the right path
That leads to peace not war
Ad Majora Paramur.
Refrain
We Are Being Prepared Words, music and arrangement by Tracey Keightley
Look in my heart
It’s full to bursting.
God all around
In everything I see.
His Angels singing
Rejoicing ever more.
Ad Majora Paramur.

We are being prepared,
being prepared for greater
