Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to a new academic year1. New staf f
We welcome Ms Labinjo (Year 5 teacher), Miss Kemson (Year 4 teacher), Miss Stroud (Year 3 teacher), Miss
Breedon (Year 1 teacher) and Mrs Turner (additional support teacher) to Immanuel. We hope you will have the
opportunity to meet these new staff members in the coming days.
2. New entrance to new offices – not through hall
Parents/carers who came to school today will have seen the signs of new offices, a bigger staffroom, new
windows/doors on the Juniors side of school as well as our new security door by the office. To gain access to theschool you will now need to be ‘buzzed in’ by the school office. Please can we ask that the school office is not
accessed from the hall as this would defeat our objective of increasing site security. Thank you.
3. New telephone numbers
Over the holidays we have changed our mobile phone number and added more school numbers to increase our
availability for parent/carers’ contact. The numbers are listed above and will be on all school headed letters. We ask
that the office number is used in case of emergencies as Mr Robinson’s phone will not necessarily be on during
teaching times.
4. New ways to celebrate birthdays
We are extremely grateful for efforts made by parent/carers on the issue of ‘homemade’ and healthy foods used inpacked lunches. We would now like to extend these efforts to celebrate birthdays at school. If what is made for the
special birthday boy or girl is ‘homemade’ or healthy then we are saying ‘yes’ this year. If further clarification is
needed please see Mr Robinson but what we are saying is ‘yes’ to sharing ‘homemade’ cakes, buns, biscuits or
fruit/fruit kebabs etc… at the end of the school day when there is a birthday. Please ensure any celebrations are ready
for immediate distribution (e.g. pre-cut into 30 pieces for a class).
5. New policies – remember attendance & punctuali ty policy consultation
New guidance on managing school attendance and punctuality will be followed from today. To hear more about this
guidance or to contribute to the school’s policy that will be written please come along to a meeting with Mr Robinson
and Miss Baker, next Wednesday 8th
September at 8.50 a.m. in the school hall.
6. New after school clubs
Please remember that these clubs will start in the week commencing Monday 13th
September with registration for
clubs starting next week.
I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday and time with your families and I wish you well for 2010-11.
Yours sincerely
Mr Robinson
