This session explores the transformation programme has delivered the total modernisation of the entire technology
stack within the Department for Education (DfE) with a mantra of going from "trailing edge to leading edge" within a
18 month window. This has been delivered through a strong IT brand identity and a energised team, organised into a
cohesive and responsive technical areas. The programme has seen a total transformation all aspects of the DfE's
technology, landing a ten-year shift in capability and delivering a cloud first enterprise, Windows 10 and Office 365. It
will also significantly reduce the technology's stack technical debt to under 20%, which in turn will enable the depart-
ment to re-engineer its business processes, fully embrace digital processes and deliver efficient and connected services
to the Education sector in England.
