Main Entrance

This is the main entrance of the American international school of Mozambique. It is very safety and secure because it has cameras and Id card machines. It is very useful , there are a lot of students and teachers always in the entrance. It is known as the most busiest place in the whole school.

Portuguese class

This is the Portuguese class, it is very creative and fun. As seen below Mrs.Gilda is the Portuguese teacher for advanced students.

As seen in the picture that is Mrs.Colleen’s office which is used to do all her work. Mrs.Colleen is a teacher , and the principal of Aism.

Secondary library

This is the secondary school library. It is very helpful and has amazing books. There are supervisors and librarians to help you choose any book. Its very peaceful and silent.

Maintenance and Security room

This is the maintenance and security room . There are security guards and staff from maintenance in this office. Without these loyal Mozambicans we wouldn’t have a clean and safe environment.

While it is the accountants office which is used to do the financial fees and keep the money business of aism in order. It’s a small office but gets a lot of work done

Technology lab and IT office

This is the technology lab , it is used for students and teachers its has a variety of uses one of them is study hall , always good internet and it’s a fresh lab to work in.

The deck

This is the deck ! We LOVE the deck it used for lunch time , it has tables and chairs and the cafeteria is right there so its basically a lunch area to spend your lunch breaks with your friends.

English class

This is the English classroom, we have English it’s a very nice subject we learn about different things everyday. The 8th grade teacher is Dr.pops very outstanding teacher.

*Film studies *Film studies is where students learn the history of film and how it came to be. They are also taught the different effects techniques that are put into professional movies. the left hand side is the music room and the right hand side is the dram room.

In history class is very creative and you learn a lot of amazing things in the class.

Ib office This is the IB office which has Mrs.fernandes , Dr.smith and Miss.rhodes. Mrs Patricia helps students with their school work. If a student has a problem with a task given to him/her by a teacher, Mrs Patricia will help as much as she can. She also helps many foreign students with their English and offers after school help! She is great and is always there for you.

Economics

It’s a very nice big class. You have a lot of fun especially with Mr.Lyall. It’s a very useful space in his classrooms has all the myp criteria's.

the scientists where they do all there work.

Drama and Dance ! I personally LOVE this class , you have so much fun , its chilled and relaxed you have to work but it’s the best

The swimming pool ! Its clear crystal blue warm water… we swim and have fun with mr.t .. There's a big pool and a small pool.

Service learning

Service learning is a program which has many different poor organisations in Maputo. The students are separated into different groups and go 6 times in an academic year to their destinations. At the end of the year we do a final performance on what we did during the year in the group.

Nurse office

The nurse is where students teachers, and staff go when they have a problem. Mrs Sue says she gets about 40 people in her office everyday! Its incredible because she help and attends aism students when sick or have injuries.

The hard court is where all AISM students play indoor sports such as basketball or badminton , volleyball and tennis. It is very big and huge. I like it because its green and it has the buffalo logo painted on the wall.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is where students go to buy food at break times. There are small snacks and also a special plate every day, the food changes every day. It is always a good nutritional meal but also fattening.

Students from grade 9-12 have the choice to do workshop. It is a subject where they can create things with different tools. They learn to work with tools that are used by professionals in real life situations.

The administrations office works together with the rest of the school. It is in charge on making sure they know who is at school and all times and who is absent. If a student is late to school, this is where they go to pick up a late pass. Also, when there are major trips happening who need a payment, this is where students come as well.

Math is a very important subject in school. There is math studies, math SL, and math HL. These are the different levels of math, and the students are free to pick which one they are supposed to be in. Our school even offers many math competitions in Africa that our best students are taken to. We also have the best math teachers that give us a lot of homework..

*This is the sports and activities office. This is where all of the materials needed for sports are ordered and where students can buy the school sports uniform. This is also where the students go when they want to do our change an after school activity. Its very messy sometimes but for good reasons..

This is the Primary side of the school. They are closer to the nurse, pool, cafeteria, and hard court. Its huge and green but very hot because of the sun.

The primary school playground is where younger students come out to play during breaks. This is the place where you found a lot of primary students.

*The PTA council is who organizes the school events and fund raisers. The most important event is May fair which the whole school is in charge of organising. It is a big fair that happens in May, and a big part of the city comes to it. There is a lot of food, performances and games involved. They basically put the school in order.

ELC is where the younger children learn basic things like numbers, shapes, and colours. They leave at 12:30 every day.The students are so small but are very smart.

Music is an optional subject taught by Ms Carol. Students are taught how to play the basic band instruments and the level of play increases throughout the grades. There is also a choir trip to Italy in April which is really cool. Mrs.Carol brander the music teacher is also very good without her music class wont be the same.

Auditorium

The auditorium is where we have our weekly school meetings where we discuss upcoming events at school, upcoming event out of school, sports scores, etc. Sometimes we also have guest speakers and performances here. You can an formal or very casual evening in the huge hall.

*Visual arts

The humanities rooms are where students learn geography and economics. Geography is all the way from 6th to 12th grade, and economics is from 8th to 12th. Mr. sirini is a very strict teacher but you always leave his classroom by knowing something new.

Here, many students come on their breaks to eat, and also to work outside of class. This is the place where all of the students like to be together. We use this expression we love to chill in the court yard because no teacher bothers us.

Golden high way

French room This is the French room is very big and you learn French. Its not a language I am doing but you have the choice between Portuguese or French.
