DEACON ELECTION TODAY, at the end of our Morning Worship Service, the members of the Loris FBC family will be electing 4 new

deacons to replace the 4 who are rotating off this year. Please read Acts 6:1-7 and 1 Tim 3:8-13 as you pray for God’s

wisdom and leadership to help you vote for those men who have HIS APPROVAL and meet HIS QUALIFICATIONS to

serve in this critical servant position. When looking for servant-leaders, God is not interested in the most “popular”, but those who are consistently “spiritual” (Ephesians 5:18)

and who love HIS church (Ephesians 1:22).

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR JOURNEY CLASS MEMBERS

For those members of Loris FBC who have already started in

the “Journey Classes”, please note that the only Journey class

that will be offered from here on out will be Journey Volume

1. After careful evaluation of the new “Journey” discipleship

classes over the past two years, and after listening to many

members who have gone through all four of the “Journey”

volumes, the Evangelism & Discipleship Committee made

this decision to not require (or offer) Journey Volumes 2, 3,

and 4. Almost all of the information taught in Journey

Volumes 2, 3, and 4 was either redundant or is being covered

in other discipleship classes taught in our church (i.e. Sunday

School, Wednesday evening Bible Study, etc.). We will

continue to offer Journey Volume 1 because the committee

still believes that it is a very effective study guide to help

Christians learn what a disciple of Jesus Christ really “IS”

and what a disciple of Jesus Christ “IS SUPPOSED TO BE

DOING” to be all that God saved a believer to become.

Therefore, if you have already taken Journey Volume 1, we

believe you will grow more as a disciple if you sign up for

one or more of the other great discipleship classes that are

being offered this Semester.

NO PRAYER/BIBLE STUDY ON AUGUST 7TH

The annual 3-day “Evangelism Conference” held at Langston

Baptist Church in Conway will begin on Wednesday, August

7th, and end on Friday, August 9th. In lieu of our typical

“Witnessing Wednesday” Prayer Meeting and Bible Study,

these services will be canceled on August 7th at Loris FBC so

that all interested church members can attend these exciting

worship and preaching services. On Thursday, August 8th,

members of our church choir will be joined with members

from Baptist church choirs throughout Horry County to help

lead worship as they praise God together at Langston Baptist

as a part of this conference. Please try to attend at least some

of this “God honoring” and life changing event.
